More Than Miracles | Holly Furtick | Elevation Church

In this engaging Mother’s Day message Holly Furtick, wife of Pastor Steven Furtick of Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC continues encouraging us in the theme of our recent messages, Looking Forward To Normal (ele.vc/Di8Ujh), A Lesson In Letting Go (ele.vc/B4tEKI), and Focus On The Fruit (ele.vc/fruit).
Building around the phrase Jesus uses to describe himself in John 6 verses 28-34, “I am the bread of life,” Holly helps us confront the expectations that are holding us back in our faith. We tend to turn to Jesus when we need something, just like the people in this selection from the Bible, but we don’t want to end up like many of them did when at the end of the story their disappointment caused them to turn away from Jesus and, “follow Him no more.”
Instead, Holly Furtick encourages us that we can know Jesus as “More Than Miracles.” Yes, He has power and strength to provide us with what we need, but, “Jesus offers so much more than filling our physical needs.”
Often, we don’t want a new thing, we want God to fix the old thing. We don’t want to find good in our struggle, we want things to, “Get back to normal.” Holly Furtick is helping us understand that Jesus, the bread of life, is beside us in our loneliness, available when we need Him, and good to us in all situations. He is the bread of life - the sustaining provision we can eat and never be hungry again.

I gave my life to Jesus when I was about your age (I’m almost 50yrs now) and giving my life to Christ was the best thing that EVER happened to me!! Life has not been a bed of roses but God was faithful back then and still is now, several years later. Today June 22 is my Mom's birthday! She's celebrating in heaven! She would be 95 today 😔I miss her so much!! She died Sept 16th,2001. I got a call on 9/11 and could not fly so I had to take a bus from Ft Smith AR to Denver Co. The hardest part of It is that we had to watch her take her last breath!😒very sad! I am happy to know that she had no more pain!🙂thank you Jesus!!💖💖

Holly, you are an inspiration. I’ve always believed women don’t belong at the pulpit. And you ma’am, are a prime example that we can bring God’s word to people just as well as a man. When Holly said I don't really want God to do a new thing but instead I want him to fix the old stuff and goes on to list how our habits are working against us, the holy spirit reminded me of what Jesus said in Mark 2 vs 22, we can't put new wine in old wine skins. A new life cannot work well with the old habits.

To me and my 5 siblings she was the best mother on this planet. 19 years ago I was blessed with an amazing mother in law, she is there for me in every way....God is good! This is a message for Holly and Pastor Steven. It's 2am. I watched the 12am message from the pastor on TV as I do every Sunday night. I watch late because that's my only time where I can truly listen. Then I had to have more. So I came here and listened to the words I needed to hear. In this amazing message from Holly and another from the pastor. I am 32 years old, I have stage 4 cervical cancer that meets with my bladder, uninsured, I have 4 children all 13 and under. My youngest, Layla, is 3 years old. She is special needs. Severe skulliosis and mild cerebral palsy. She cannot sit by herself, she cannot stand or walk. My father in law just passed unexpectedly, my husband isn't living for the Lord but wants to, mostdays, my life feels like a downward spiral. I find myself living in fear daily and have to stop myself. Because of both of you and the messages you bring, I have this quite time to myself when the rest of the family is sound asleep and your words speak to me. God speaks to me through you. When I'm living in fear when I'm afraid, I remember that I can have fear but not live in it. I just wanted to thank you both. I cannot go out and attend church even if this quarentine wasn't happening. I'm sick, weak, tired. But your messages reach me. They heal me. They motivate me to listen. Open my eyes and ears, look for the Lord in every moment. I am not alone. The times where I feel alone and just can't take it anymore, Sunday rolls around and I hear the exact words God needs me to hear, from you. Thank you is not enough for what you've both done for me and my relationship with God. The worries and fears and pain seem so small as I listen to the word through you. God bless you both, your families and loved ones. Stay safe. And thank you again. 🖤

its been a rough couple of weeks but the Lord has guided me through. Whatever the circumstances, always remember your never alone in this. It is a hard realization to understand but I'm making steps to realize this more and building more trust with my Faith. Thank you Lord.
