@@jwenting to defend them, if you actually look it up, Healthline does a good pros and cons of the product. It can work if your underlying medical condition causing the baldness is treated by it. The medical products are generic versions of Finasteride, Minoxidil and Ketoconazole. FAR from snake oil. As KZfaq is a US based company thus US media law, medical product advertising is allowed.

There’s an even easier explanation for the crossword clues. All the words now seem weird because we don’t use them much, but they were very common in the 1940s (when even the phrases “by Neptune” or “by Juno” were quite commonplace) - indeed the fact they were common words lent them to be used to name operations without giving the nature of the operation away. The inclusion of strangely spelt us states in English crosswords has been a thing since crosswords began, because words like “Utah”, “Idaho”, “Ohio” or “Wyoming” can be very useful to link into a crossword to make other answers fit around them. This practice coupled with the commonplace nature of the other words involved (plus almost every crossword in history has used “sword” or “gold” in it somewhere), makes this not a coincidence as much an absolute certainty of fate. No need to invoke moles or even the possibility of soldiers with loose lips. Just language and crosswords doing what they always do.

The crossword case? I think there has to be a connection and the most likely candidate is unconscious telepathy. Is it a "strange coincidence" that IESOUS CHRISTOS anagrams to OSIRIS SET CHOUS (Chous means "a measure of capacity equal to 12 cups".)? The bible does say (in Romans) that Christians are people who believe in the NAME of Jesus Christ ... rather than merely believing in him and his teachings.
@Eldorado1239

What would "Osiris Set 12-cups" be supposed to mean...? If you somehow change the C for R you can get "Osiris Set Horus" instead, by the way.
@jordanpeters3746
@jordanpeters3746 2 жыл бұрын
My understanding of the Egyptian Osiris myths (that were around since the beginning of the Egyptian civilisation) is that they had their origins amongst people who migrated from further North .. where the seasons were more pronounced. Osiris is Summer, Set Winter, Isis Spring, and Nephthys, Set's wife, is Autumn. Set killed Osiris then Isis resurrected him. Set killed Osiris because Osiris seduced Nephthys. Chous, the 12 cups, is the 12 signs of the zodiac. Conclusion ... Christianity was concocted by someone (a Roman?) who was familiar with both Egyptian and Jewish (and Greek) religious beliefs and practices.
@Eldorado1239

@@jordanpeters3746 Interesting! That seems to be a sound conclusion. I will definitely try to keep this in mind next time I "research" anything related. Quotes because it's simply out of interest. There are other, often non-cryptic and plainly visible aspects that give away it's artificial, tailor-made nature. Or using your word, concocted. Things like Winter Solstice takeover and conversion into Christmas or strange hate for the symbolism of horns which have always been a positive, peaceful symbol connected to plenty. Point is - I can absolutely see a "think-tank" group of experts on various religions and traditions being hired to create a new religion that would be able to absorb as many people as possible. No matter what religion or tradition your lineage is connected to, there should be something relatable enough for you to be absorbed. Be it something that proves your old religion is "evil" or something that is in alignment with your beliefs. I hope my wording is not too confusing, should have written this outside the little Notifications drop-out menu...
@Fendelfull
@Fendelfull 2 жыл бұрын
Such things being anything other than coincidence would be even stranger. Why would someone construct a random anagram from those Latinate spellings of Egyptian namings of old gods and cups? Even if there was some methodology for decoding the name into those words, and the encoder had faith that future brethren would be able to unscramble his Word Jumble as he hoped, what value would it be to anyone? Who was to be fooled by the jumble, and why encode it in the first place? Seems like a lot of cleverness being applied to no end, and a lot of faith being put in folks of the future deriving meaning from a word game. Also seems more likely that folklore gets commonly interwoven in the traditions of adjacent or colliding cultures in messy ways and may emerge over many generations from the cauldrons of human civilization in ways that don’t require the occult esoteric machinations of secret societies of shadow word scramblers. But I can’t pretend to understand the interests of ancient scribes.
