I am there too. My family didn't (my mother didn't have these symptoms and would never buy me enough products so I always bled into clothing, towels, my bed, furniture ... you know the drill) and they even told doctors and boyfriends that I was exaggerating. I see the tide turning though so I am grateful for that. Hang in there!

For real, I'm not sure what's been worse, my family and a live in leach (sorry, boyfriend) making fun of me for the symptoms or the symptoms. People are cruel.

I hate you went through all that, but thank you SO MUCH for mentioning the IUD didn't work for you as well! Mine did not help at all! I had to either try an IUD or Lurpon to even be "in compliance" with treatment for my pains, or I would have to seek care elsewhere after visiting my 6th doctor for severe period pains. I was on an IUD and the doctor was generally nice up until he put the IUD in me then rushed out, didn't want to answer none of my questions and basically acted like I was out of his hair. The whole insertion alone is barbaric and painful. I had mine in for 96 days, non stop bleeding the entire time, and doctor dismissed my concerns about constant bleeding and terrible cramps. After 30days he prescribed me an oral birth control to take with the IUD in place to stop the bleeding, was on it another 60 days, still bleeding and days 90 to 96 had horrible nonstop cramps off and on. Day 96 they wouldn't ease up, and my IUD dislodged wrapped around a menstrual clot! My lining kept growing the entire time, and I dropped so much tissue for 2 weeks, and bled another 2 weeks after it dislodged. My doctor was completely dismissive of what I went through, and was like "well IUD works for most people with endo obviously this wasn't working for you." When I tried to get his opinion as to why & wondered if a different sized one would have helped. He was acting like I was seeking attention, kept questioning me if I was having intercourse, though I've been celibate for hears due to the pain, then kept saying "well it looked in place and like everything was fine when I was in the office. Not sure how it dislodged." I guess insuating I might have done something like xes or whatever and it knocked loose. Doctors are so rude & dismissive when it comes to women's issues. It's a miracle if someone gets a caring and sympathetic doctor.

What did you decide? And what type of surgery did you get? Also did your friend get pregnant right away?

It really is only meant for Prostate Cancer, and only in the worst case scenario.

So sorry hon. You're not alone. I went on this horrible drug over 30 years ago to treat my endo & I'm still suffering with almost every side effect you mentioned. Also lost my husband because I gained so much weight. He said he was disgusted with me because (in his words) he didn't marry a 'fat cow' and I was supposed to be a 'trophy wife' for him to show off. Of course, words like that would send anyone into a state of severe depression with thoughts of suicide. I am doing good compared to what I thought it'd be. I get some mood swings once in a while (bearable), am easily tired, didn't get a period since and had maybe 4 head aches that I'm not sure if it's related to that or to work. I did notice that my sight is blurry sometimes and short memory phases occurred. I'm getting my 2nd shot on May 10t and am hoping that it will keep going like that. Never know what your body will do. So, for now, it's ok.

Some headaches take a while to subside, the body thinks the headache state is the new normal so creates an environment (so to speak) hospitable to headaches (encourages the pituitary to release certain hormones that create a headache and so on) sometimes a few months. If Lupron works for her then it works but once the shot wears off, maybe try another route? I can say that every BC I tried from age 16-46 was a nightmare but then, just to shut up the new gynecologist, I tried a BC pill that used another kind of estrogen and it was nothing short of a miracle for me. If you have not looked into that, perhaps that might be something? I know how hard it is. Thinking of you two.

I took it on 19 April for fibroid got zoladex as first shot and lupron as 2nd shot...I didn't get any side effects with the zoladex but omg lupron 17 days after I am having hot flushes nausea dizziness pelvic pain back pain difficulty urinating and palpitations sometimes I feel my heart is beating out of my chest... and chills

Nell pls if you could respond to this message I will appreciate it, how do you feel? I was started on a similar treatment here in UK is called Zoladex( Goserelin) for breast cancer. I'm on it every month. This injection has caused so much problems for me worse than the cancer its self. My bone aches, cant think straight, endless headaches, vertigo and the list goes on. Recently my teeth started hurting. I think this injection caused my back pains and pelvic so bad, now the oncologist are convinced I have cancer in my bones, it's so crazy. Brain fog is no joke. Because doctors are bullying woman into believing this is the only treatment option. When in fact it does absolutely nothing to erradicate the disease from our bodies. I have flat out refused every time this was pushed on me. @Lillian Falba I suffered for 15 years prior to my diagnosis and 7 years after and still refused to put that in my body. I just recently found an excision specialist 2 hours away from me and went into excision surgery this past Friday. The relief I am feeling already is life changing. I also had a presacral neurectomy done during that procedure where they remove the nerve from the uterus to the spine to stop pain signals being sent to the brain. When I say it has been life changing, I really mean it! I'm only 4 days post op and I'm not even taking Ibuprofen. I literally have no pain. My surgeon does not believe in Lupron, and says to run when it is offered. With a very skilled surgeon relief is very possible! I feel better now 4 days post op than I ever have in my life. Don't give up the fight ladies, research excision specialists near you, you may have to travel but it is well worth it to be with a Doctor who knows this disease in and out, and has compassion for what you go through. Any doctor who believes in bullying you to put that poison in your body is uneducated in this disease and cannot properly treat you. Unfortunately a lot of doctors are taught that this is the go to treatment for Endometriosis due to lack of education, and this HAS to change!

I got the lupron shot once a month for a little over 6 months and yes it helped with the pain of my endo but the side effects were terrible I wasn’t myself at all and now my bone/joints always hurt. I wish my doctor had told me more of the side effects not once did she ever tell me how bad the side effects could get. There is definitely more bad then good to lupron !

I’m so sorry and I hope you are doing well! I think the problem here is that lupron helps treat men with prostate cancer and that it’s too aggressive to treat endometriosis. I believe people are fighting for a safer, less aggressive treatment for endometriosis.

How long has she been taking it? I was on it for 6 months in 2020. My last injection was in November. The only symptoms I had was hot flashes, no periods and joint pain once I got to the 5th month. I am now in the withdrawal phase and the joint pain is way better now only in my fingers a little bit, hot flashes are gone but I’m having tingling through my body which then makes me anxious as I’m thinking something serious is happening to me because of reading what other women went through. I even ended up in the hospital last week thinking I was having a heart attack but it was just me panicking about the withdrawal symptoms.

@@vincybeauty4001, she started in December 2020 and plans to continue being on it until August 2021, so it will be 8 months. Although she is not getting any period, the PMS and PMDD is still there :(
