The Maximo Ultra MKII are available in component or coaxial configurations. Components are available as 2-way or 3-way versions, with an extra midrange driver for the 3-way. The coaxial and 2-way component speakers use Morel's built-in MXR crossover to send the right frequencies to the woofer and tweeter, and the 3-way components feature a second crossover to distribute frequencies to the three drivers.
The result is beautiful sound with outstanding stereo separation. The Morel Maximo Ultra MKII speakers sound their best when powered by an amp, but they'll sound good powered from an aftermarket receiver, too.

Would these be an honest upgrade from the Rockford Fosgate Prime components? I am running an aftermarket Sony XAV-AX5000 with a 4-channel alpine amp, as well as a 12-inch alpine sub routed to an alpine mono sub. I also have some Rockford Fosgate coaxials in the back, but I plan on upgrading those to the equivalent of these Morel components. Mainly listen to aggressive metal music! Not really enjoying the Rockfords anymore, but I also don't want to break the bank lol

@@crutchfield They sound kind of...too muddy and I have to aggressively EQ them in order for them to sound decent. I have sound deadened all of my doors as well, and I just want better clarity and overall sound without having to spend 1k on car speakers. I have a 2014, VW Jetta, and the amp for the 4-channel speakers I'm using is an Alpine MRV-F300!

These Morel speakers can work with your amp and would definitely improve the sound. The issue is we cannot fit them into your Jetta. We wish we had different news for you there. We do offer other speakers and JL Audio is one of them. They will work with your amp and can be installed into the front and rear locations. @@crutchfield Really? On Crutchfield’s website, it explicitly states that the Morel Maximo Ultra 502 MKII fit my 2014 VW Jetta…is it because these ones, in the video, are a bigger size?

The Morel Maximo Ultra 502 woofers are a good fit using our adaptor brackets. The 602s requires a larger cutout than a standard 6½" speaker and also require more mounting height than available under your factory grilles. You'd have to do some modifications to use them.

Thanks for the video. I have a JVC KW-M745DBT headunit, Alpine X-S65c components in the front, morel maximo ultra 602 coaxial at the back and a DD Audio subwoofer. A Pioneer PRS-D4200F(4 channel, 75Wx4 at 4 Ohm) runs the Alpine and the Sub and the headunit powers the Morels. The rear Morels are too low volume compared to the fronts. At reasonable volume the front stage and sub come alive, but at low volume, i feel the rear complenting would sound better. I am thinking of amping up the Morels, one option i have is to use a micro amp like Pioneer GM-D1004 which will be easy to wire as I can use factory speaker wire and tap a fuse for power but it provides 45W per channel, the other option is to rewire a 4AWG power cable, runs new speaker cables to rear speakers and get a 5 channel amp or a separate mono amp. The second option requires more time, effort, and money. But will the first option be good enough, or will i end up still wanting more? Will 45w from Pioneer GM-D1004 on factory speaker wire be good? Another option is bridging the pioneer to get 90w but i think 90w on factory speaker wire might be too much.

We have shown in testing with our Technical Support team that factory size speaker wires can work well up around the 90 to 100-watt mark. Rewiring with fresh speaker wire is always a good call too if you are willing to do the extra work. For your specific setup and the best possible performance, running a new larger power wire with distribution block (for dual amps) and adding a mono amp for the sub (or new 5-channel amp, no distribution block required) will provide the best performance.

It will be enough to drive them! The thing that should be considered is your goals for the audio and will that be enough power to reach them. What is the year, make, and model of your vehicle? What's installed in the vehicle right now? What changes are you hoping to make the sound you get from that gear?

@@crutchfield Thank you for your reply, I have just bought a new Haval G6 HEV, but the OEM speakers in the car is unacceptable for me. I would like to do the upgrading and found this review so I contacted with the audio shop and they recommended this set of Morel Maximo Ultra MK-II + Morel Maximo Ultra Coaxial + PWE-S800 + PXE-R500 plus Double sided Damping from Ground Zero for 4 Doors. So I hope it should be cover my needs but not sure if this set is the right one for entry level? Thanks.

The answer depends partially on the amp/processor that would be running them--what's your setup like? Factory or aftermarket head unit? Do you have an amp?

Both the original Maximo Ultra 602 and the Maximo Ultra 602 MKII work well with radio power. The MKII model can handle a bit more power which can make the bass feel more lively when powering them with an amp.

Both excellent brands but tonally different. The Morels have warmer sounding tweeters while the Focals are a bit brighter on top in general.

I have a full set of the newest ones on my car. But it won't help you if you have a shitty multimedia with a bad sound processor wich is the next thing on my list i am having a Multimedia screen fitted it to my original Is dashboard plates And will be embedded inside The dashboard from side to side, I have a Julietta QV 2013 For the ones wondering.

We don't carry the Audison brand, but those Morel speakers pack a lot of performance in for the price. What genres do you enjoy? Will you run them from a dedicated amp or from the radio power?

They sure can be used in an active system! The crossover frequencies are not always known so you may need to use a RTA to help identify the audio frequency to use in the high pass and low pass crossover settings of the active crossover

That truly depends on the audio preferences of the listener and which can be installed. We can check the easier fit options with the year, make, and model of the vehicle. If you plan on a custom install, we can overlook the vehicle information to help with the fitment of the speakers. Also, to help recommend between the two models, we need to know the listener's preferences. What speakers have you ran in the past and liked? How would you describe the sound you seek now. Do you like stronger treble? Perhaps a different part of the audio range?

@@crutchfield I have a factory radio unit with no RCA out etc. Will use the Hi-Lo converter. I will use Morel Tempo Integra component in front and rear with coax. Also, do you suggest a separate AMP for speakers, woofer & DSP -- OR -- 6 channel AMP with builtin DSP ?? Market has too many options and that adds to confusion. I will listen to EDM, Vocal Trance, Classic Rock, Reggae etc

The Tempo Ultra 6.5" 2-component up front? The Tempo Ultra 6.5" coaxial in the rear? You mentioned a woofer; which brand/model is it? If one amp can be used to power all the gear, that will help reduce the space needed as well as the work that is needed. As for the best route to go (amp, DSP amp, etc..), that depends on a lot of variables. Some vehicles need a DSP to fix the sound. What is the year, make, and model of your vehicle?

Its very hard to convey how things sound over the internet, It also depends on what speakers you are actually listening to the video on. Wouldn't really make much sense to include sound clips.

@@R34Sumo but it gives the idea about the bass. Everybody know thats youtube does sound quality compression but it never compresses the bass. It will help the buyers to totally understand a basic sound setup

@@crutchfield I will be using the More Maximo Ultra 602 6.5 components up front and the 6.5 coaxial for the rear doors. I am likely going with the pioneer gm-dx874 amp. Is there something better?
