I spent an ungodly amount of time on this, considering that it's a comment, so I hope it pays off. Beginning in 1996, the franchise of Pokemon is one of the most widespread on Earth. The first generation spans the Pokedex from entry 1 to 151. This essay takes the base statistic total and moves of each Pokemon into consideration. It argues that Mewtwo is statistically the strongest Generation 1 Pokemon. Featuring an impressive base statistic total of 680, Mewtwo far exceeds that of any other Generation 1 Pokemon, with the next best Pokemon being Mew, with a "BST" of 600. This includes an exceptional Special Attack statistic of 154, ranking it as the 17th highest Special Attack statistic of any Pokemon, and the second highest of any Pokemon that is not an upgraded form (megas, Deoxys forms, Hoopa Unbound, etc.). Mewtwo's outstanding statistics immediately separate it from other Generation 1 Pokemon. This already incredible Pokemon was made even better in Generation 5 upon being bestowed with a signature move in Psystrike, a 100 Base Power move with 100 Accuracy, as well as 10 base Power Points, which is double the standard amount for moves of this calibre. These two new forms feature outstanding statistics, particularly on the offensive side. Mega Mewtwo X sports a Physical Attack statistic of 190, being the highest in the franchise, and Mega Mewtwo Y is the same, except with a Special Attack statistic, being 194. Particularly in the case of Mega Mewtwo Y, this is inconceivably powerful considering the moves available to Mewtwo, especially the aforementioned Psytrike. Mega Evolution rose Mewtwo to even greater levels in terms of power, distinguishing it clearly as the strongest Generation 1 Pokemon. In conclusion, Mewtwo is statistically the strongest Generation 1 Pokemon, featuring outstanding statistics and moves which make it incomparable to any other Pokemon in Generation 1. With the upcoming game, Pokemon Legends: Z-A and the return of Mega Evolution, it is highly probable that Mewtwo will once again be transported to greater heights, but this remains to be seen. I'm absolutely a Farfetch'd stan, as it was on my first ever Red team, and along with my other team of 5, i grinded them all to lvl 100 by just beating the elite 4 again and again! Along with Dewgong and Hypno, they are the only three from my original first ever pokemon team i remember, and i can't for the life of me remember the other three, not even which starter i picked...

Making the prediction before the video finishes but after the description of how the simulation worked: Either Bulbasaur line or Nidoking were the best. Bulbasaur's type is so good for the start (Rock Gym, Water Gym, Electric Gym) and even towards the end (Ground Gym, Ice Elite 4 where over half the mons are Water Type). But because it's EVERY possible learnset, the Nidoking learnset is just too darn good, and you can get Nidoran early, and evolve it early too.

my biggest complaint about this list is it doesnt take into account things like garydos being hot dogwater in gens 1-3 cause its special is 60. so it gets fried by ice grass psychic and electric types even a flamethrower will do about half and 80% of its "good moves" are special

Raticate sweeps Sabrina because it's fast (which also means higher crit ratio), has STAB Body Slam/Take Down, and Sabrina's team is made of paper (Kadabra, mr. Mime, venomoth, alakazam).

I am only at number 61. But my guesses for top contention based on how this ranking is set up. Alakazam (Get before 2nd gym, can sweep everyone or at least I'm pretty sure it can) Gyrados ( Can get before 2nd gym can sweep everyone pretty much, might struggle against like surge) nidoking and or nidoqueen (Can get before second gym and I know from personal experience Nidoqueen can sweep all of the gyms) Venusaur (Able to be starter pokemon and can pretty much sweep entire game.)

We all most likely leaned on a specific pokemon our first playthrough, but i think mine was rather unique. On my first playthrough, I got stuck in Cerulean/Vermillion City because i didn't realize there was a cut tree by Cerulean and I was trying to figure out how to get out from Vermillion and tried finding a way into Cerulean and by the time i had actually noticed the tree. I had every catchable pokemon in those areas and evolved them all completely, but I got farfetch'd from the trade and trained him trying to level him up into a Doduo/Dodrio (I was 8 lmao) Needless to say, that didn't work. lol. Anyways, due to the trade xp boost, I had a level 68 Farfetch'd by the time I got to rock tunnel and I pretty much slashed my way through the elite 4 at the end of the game with a level 94 Farfetch'd lmfao. Adding this in. I wrote this before Farfetch'd was named and it was literally the next pokemon said after i wrote the comment lmao

I am writing this before watching both vids, I stopped at 0:18 so I know it has to do with the Gen 1 games. The strongest Gen 1 pokemon depends motly on what game For example if you mean the competitive format then Mewtwo is the best because it's an Alakazam but better. However if you mean which pokemon would help the most during an in game playthrough, then the question becomes, do you mean a glitched run or a no glitch run? If it's the former, then Nidoking is the best. You get Nidoran pretty early and it can really help for the Gyms and considering you can evolve him once getting the Moonstone, which but the biggest factor in making Nidoking the best is the fact he can learn Horn Drill, a OHKO move, and using an X Accuracy makes it always hit due to a glitch. However if you mean a no glitch run, then it's Gyarados everystep of the way. It's best user of Hyperbeam and in that Gen, you don't need to recharge if Hyperbeam KO. (it's not big enough to be considered a glitch and even if it was, Gyarados is still good enough to be used without it.) Nidoking is a close second, but Gyarados does everything Nidoking does but better.

Nidoking should be #1 because nidoran is available early, along with a moon stone, and it can learn an incredible amount of moves.

Snorelax is the strongest gen 1 pokemon because it beat the strongest theoretical pokemon that could ever exist in a battle.

They must be assuming opposing trainers always use optimal moves, because every Charmander fan can tell you it sweeps Brock with Ember. Onix dies even faster than Geodude due to lower HP and Special. The reason people think Bulbasaur is the best is NOT because of early game jesus... You can use a really easy to get glitch (that most people might even do accidentally) that makes it absolutely nuts. Thanks Gen 1 garbage mechanics for making things crit so easily. Things like poison and leech seed stacking. etc.

Ditto is definitely the scientifically best one because its the one every modern pokemon breeder uses can't say that about any other pokemon, except maybe vaporeon or something (jk jk jk)

this list isn't the best as it leaves out mimic the best move in gen 1. mimic makes the league easier for any Pokemon Lorelei - slowbro goes for amnesia turn one and you can mimic it and badge boost to 1 shot the rest of her team. Agatha - first gengar has substitute which allows you to avoid confusion and helps against sleep as the sub takes the hits. Lance - second dragonair has ice beam or mimic hyper beam from the gyarados. Venusaur also gets swords dance in silph co to badge boost and body slam, it can sweep the game itself, it only struggles on Agatha which it's best option is to mimic lick. Plus razor leaf always crits but isn't necessary as swords dance sets just out perform it late game.

The title of his video is a bit misleading, in my opinion .. doesn't give you a great idea on what the video is actually gonna be. Still, I'm a SmithPlays fan. Can't wait for his yellow legacy to be out. In gen 1 randoms, if you can get Farfetch'd in against something that doesn't have Blizzard/T-Bolt, it can do a bit of work. But that's a tall order. Lmao. Everything in gen 1 gets blizzard. Its probably decent in like, ZU.
