This was intended in Ultima IX's passwords but it just became one of many reasons why Ultima fans despise that game. Ultima IV had the player character tasked with becoming the Avatar after he had successfully dealt with all overarching villains so he could lead by example. This journey lead to him obtaining a series of passwords corresponding to each temple. Later Ultima games rewarded old fans because the passwords stayed the same so they could use that knowledge to save themselves dangerous interrogation. Ultima IX was the odd one out in that it would simply refuse the correct password if you didn't do the quests related to them. This was a decision that was criticized from a story perspective (the Avatar suddenly forgot key details that are the very reason he became a holy figure between VIII and IX) and a gameplay one as well (not much of IX's campaign was particularly functional, let alone fun so having the ability to skip the questing would've made it less painful).

Valkyrie Profile 2 was such a shit design of a game in general. It basically encouraged you to release secondary characters to boost your protagonsts and gave you main characters... and then they took it all away in the final boss fight, including the protagonist and replaced it with a level 50 valkyrie, which is supposed to be stronger, but not when you have a level 99 protagonist. If you didn't play the game the way you intended, you softlocked yourself in the end, but it never tells you how it intends you to play it. So, yeah, having an extremely punishing anti-cheat system in a singleplayer game is not surprising for them.

Fun fact: In Minecraft, the devs will actually have a special cape on with the Mojang icon!

Okay okay, so people who not in moba sphere yes any moba has this problem although not as rampant as fps, if someone questioning what cheat we have, it ranging from 1. perfect last hit : this ensure you getting perfect amout of gold meaning you always ahead on the economy, and this is usually the most common one. 2. Map hacking meaning you have perfect map information because it reveal everything, also one of the favorite among the cheater. 3. Perfect casting, meaning it automatically tracking everything around vicinity like auto stun something, or dodging ability. 4. Smurfing yes this one also consider cheating playing on elo lower than your actual elo is a big crime till this day. Thats usually the 4 cheat that people do. And we move to other part that became rediculous like 1. Rng manipulation: basically make 25 Crit rate always became 100% crit 2. Deleting the entire game, yes it delet everything and make the match mever happens in the first place. 3. 5 versus 15 yes its breaks the lobby from usual 5 v 5 into 5 v 5 but the enemy have stupid bot that do nothing other than feeding. And many more.

I can't understand why someone cheats in competitive gaming like if you win you didn't get any better and there's no chance in hell you're getting away with cheating in a tournament it just doesn't make sense to me. I do agree with Patterz on the single player cheats because you just do these things on a secondary playthrough just doing the most ridiculous stuff because at it's core gaming is supposed just be fun.

The WarioWare game for the GBA does go dark if you pause but not entirely. You can still see a little. Just not enough to be truly helpful. But also, if you need to cheat to win WarioWare while that's in character for Wario, it's still pathetic. WarioWare is NOT hard.

I'm all for using cheats on single-player games, because the only one you're ruining the experience for is yourself. Multiplayer though, cheats are definitely not on, they just ruin the game for everybody else who's just trying to have fun.
