Morgan, how I taught my wife to back a trailer is to put your hand at the bottom of the stirring wheel, and whichever way your hand goes the trailer will go. And like driving a boat at slow speeds, minor corrections (like you husband said :)).

That boat ramp is so sweet. All of my boat ramps are tight spaces with concrete barrier on the side and is hard see with the boat on the trailer. Am planning on getting a wireless video camera to be able to see better when I backup with the boat.

I installed a Thurst Vector on my 2016 SX192 right after I bought it. They do work great. I have my name in the hat for a AR250, and will be putting on two whenever I finally get it.

Hey Morgan, the key to backing up a trailer is as you look at your left mirror and the trailer is becoming more visible you turn the wheel to the left if the trailer becomes more visible on the right turn the wheel to the right. But like James said small movements. Basically to keep it straight turn the steering wheel in the direction that the trailer is going in your mirror.

Thanks for the follow up vid with the thrust vectors on!! Glad to hear the positive feedback, will likely get a set for our AR195. How does the boat handle in reverse? Notice any difference with the fins (in reverse)? I think JBP makes a lateral thruster for 2018 -> earlier models, but it's not available with the newer bucket design, and that was supposed to be a great add for reversed steering. Anyway, thanks again for the vid, and nice job on the backing in skills Morgan!!

I’ll be doing the reverse thrusters some day. To me it’s not that big of a deal because I usually back up enough to where I can do a 180 and pull straight out. I didn’t really notice any difference in reverse though then again I didn’t really test them in reverse. 😎👍

I originally put just the thrust vector on my 2017 AR195 and didnt notice any help in reverse. HUGE help forward. Then I added the lateral thrust vector and both forward and reverse were equally awesome. This year I traded up to the 195s with the new bucket design. Only put on the thrust vector, obviously since the lateral thrust won’t fit... with the newer bucket, both forward and reverse are great with just the thrust vector!

Really nice boat, I am looking to buy a Yamaha jet boat but not sure which one yet. Question. Why does it tell your speed in MPH when it is Knots on the water? Is it some setting you have chosen on the display?

Because most people have no idea what knots are haha I haven't been in a power boat that told knots

Awesome content brother! Question, I know you mentioned the quality of these motors. I am looking at a 2016 212 SS (1.8 dual motor). Is 2016 a good year for that type of motor? I know you mentioned quality increased as of late, not sure if this falls into that. Thank you and God bless you and your family.

Hey man, saw you got the thrust vectors. I was curious, on jet boats' website they said it makes turning the wheel a little bit more resistant, did you notice it is more difficult or not much a difference at all? Thanks for the vids!

When you first installed that and took it on the lake did you get a random egg or sulfur smell from the rear of the boat? I have a 2021 AR190 and the first time I drove it after the installation of the vector I got that smell, have no idea what it could be.. Any thoughts ?

Super easy to put the tower up and down... it m 45 y/o and 6’0” and I do it buy myself. You cant trailer it with the tower down as it will damage the tower.

Those brackets are for shipping the boat to the dealer. I was not given them on either of the yamaha boats I bought new. However, you are correct that with the brackets in place, you could trailer the tower down. Without them, you will damage the tower.
