I have been doing a lot of research on keto and breastfeeding. What I have found is that increasing your healthy fat intake (even more than normal keto) will help your milk supply dramatically. And it will also make the milk thicker with more fat helping the baby stay full longer.

How long is your pumping session? A lot of people skip over this part. And do you use medium setting or max ?

How do we reduce swelling caused my using Smaller flange size ? The pain and swelling prevents me from pumping often. My breasts are sore from the constant compression to produce more.
@Beckyh777
@Beckyh777 Жыл бұрын
Use lanolin ointment and don't use small flanges if they are making you swollen change to a different breast shield size...don't compress your breast while pumping you might clog your milk ducts

I start in let down at level 4. Then switch to cycle 54 at level 6. Then when milk slows switch to 50 at 7. When milk slows switch to 46 at 8 again at 42 at 9 then switch back to let down for 30 seconds then back to 38 at 10 then 11 then finish at let down. This shortens my pump sessions to 10 min and I am able to get 5-10oz ;) hope this helps.

@@MorganBylund Morgan Bylund my sister sent me a cheat sheet 😉 this is my first baby so I was new to pumping. My baby had struggles eating at first so I have been pumping 10-12 times a day since she was 5 days old. If you need any tips let me know!! PS- if you need to increase your supply look up "hands on pumping" by Stanford

I have been a huge advocate for the hakka. It’s how I built a decent size freezer stash while out of work for 3 months. But now I feel like it doesn’t collect milk like it use too... has anyone else experienced this? I don’t breastfeed as long now but sometimes my boobs are really full and I barely get anything. (Side note I use mine on the boob I’m not breastfeeding from... every time)

My baby is 11 weeks now and the amount has definitely gone down that I get from my haakaa. I got 60ml but not get 30ml.
@sarahpavel5511

Heidi Burford I was thinking maybe it had something to do with that fact that I’m pumping more... frustrating though. It really helped me save a lot of milk in the beginning. My 3 month old is eating 5-6 ounces every two hours at daycare 😰😂
@heidiburford
@heidiburford 5 жыл бұрын
@@sarahpavel5511 gosh that sounds like a lot. I only started using it because my baby was only eating on one side for 20 minutes every 4 or 5 hours at night and my boob was so full. Handy though as I've been collecting it for the freezer. Hopefully we'll be able to go watch avengers and zach can stay with his grandparents for a few hours lol.
@ColleenLusterLacquer
@ColleenLusterLacquer 5 жыл бұрын
It’s likely because after 6-12 weeks your supply regulates. So in the beginning you will collect a lot more because hormones contribute to how much you produce. Once you regulate it’s about supply and demand. The Haakaa will not take out as much as a baby or lump will after regulating.

it is normal for babies to wake up in the night. some babies sleep through the night very early on, some don't even sleep through the night at 3 years. even at 1,5 yrs night feedings (if they wake up for it) are normal and good for brain development @@Ginger12660

@MorganBylund yes! Unbelievably rude! I would like to thank you for your input and tips! Increasing from nearly nothing to around 24oz a day shows you ha e a LOT of experience increasing milk supply. Being a "just-enough-er" or even "undersupply-er" who has made such strides to increase her supply IS an expert, in my opinion! Thanks again and ignore the trolls! ❤
