I'm fixing to show my age with this comment lol.. I used the Maxfactor stick foundation when I was in High School in the 90s 😊 I believe it was the first stick foundation, at least at the drugstore. It was incredibly good.

Hey 90’s girl! I was in high school in the 90’s too! Class of 95! I was always a Revlon or L’Oréal girl. People always complain about the smell of L’Oréal lipstick but to me that’s the smell of nostalgia!

I love applicators like the about face foundation. I’m disabled and have issues with my fingers so sometimes pumps or squeeze bottles can be hard for me. It’s easier to control I wish more brands thought about their applicators.

Great video! @MorganTurner Did you know the 2 Max Factor brothers started Smashbox? And Pat MCGrath was the global director for Max Factor in the early 2000’s. There is such great history for this brand that started so long ago in early 1900’s by a Russian man. When I was growing up you could buy Max factor in the late 70’s early 80’s all over. If you have time look at the history of of Max Factor and Smashbox, it’s so interesting 🥰 Now Estee Lauder owns everything 😮

Back in the day (80’s) Max Factor was my go to drugstore foundation for a full matte look. 🥰 They went out of business because of a scandal one of the owners supposedly went through. The rumor was the other owner rebranded and became Smashbox. Don’t know 🤔🤷🏼‍♀️

I LOVE the LV foundation because unlike a lot of new luxury foundations, it doesn’t have SPF. As someone that is sensitive to chemical SPF, I’m very happy with this foundation. I love the way it goes on and how it fades evenly after several hours. As a combo skin girlie with sensitive (rosacea) skin and prone to acne breakouts, this is a great option.

Aside from having to use a blue colour corrector for my About Face foundation (too lazy to go exchange it and I hate wasting product, I’ve been starting to feel the same way about it that you do. A good daily wear base. But omg….the O/S beauty pink powder…I’m considered a light med to medium complexion and it’s horrible and actually darkens my under eyes. I would recommend anyone who’s tan-deep looking for a brightening powder to use it. I prefer my Huda Cherry Blossom and Givenchy in their lightest setting powder. I wanted to hate Givenchy because of how pricey it is, but it’s got me in a chokehold and am grabbing it whenever I can get a good discount 🤣. The Smashbox palettes are something I’ve been eyeing and now I think I’ll have to grab those and the Hourglass palette this Sephora sale!!

I think you sold me on the Smashbox palettes. I didn't realize Max Factor was a Eurpoean brand. I knew he worked in Hollywood and the brand was here for many years. I guess I just never put 2+2 together. lol I never liked the products, because they all seemed to fall into the pancake category. They always felt gross on my face. But that is part of why he became famous in Hollywood. His makeup and techniques looked flawless on camera.

I don't know...Mac is too expensive for the cheap really cheap package they use. For instance Makeup by Mario blushes and bronzers are cheaper but the package is not cheap plastic and even has magnetic closure that is so handy (sorry my time battling to open plastic package ended time ago). So, for less I rather prefer MBMario or Makeup for Ever... They really really could do better for the price range and keeping their black signature packaging and white lettering make a highly competitive nicer sturdy magnetic packaging WITH MIRROR (clear plastic doesn't have any mirror). If I'm going to get drugstore packaging I better pay drugstore prices. So unless they make a new more solid and better packaging my money will stay with other brands that offer me great quality, nice packaging and even better prices.

If you’re going to absolutely RUIN my foundation by putting sunscreen in it at the very least it needs to be a higher spf 15!! Anything less than 35 is in the “why in the hell are you even bothering” category
