I like the system and I mostly like the setting but my only problem is that it seems like its gonna be hard to get players motivated to play a game (and hard to make characters with any goals) when the game world is going to end imminently. Like, I just don't know how anyone could make a satisfying story arc unless there's a possible way for the players to prevent, postpone, or escape the apocalypse. Even in Dark Souls, one of the bleakest settings ever the player can at least with great effort delay the inevitable, and there is ambiguity whether letting the flame fade is even the worse ending. EDIT: Whoops, commented too soon, I see there's a possible but very unlikely path to saving the world and that's enough for me

Yeah, it’s really a bit nihilistic. There are little snippets of story ideas in there that you could turn into an epic save the world or die trying campaign, but it is all on the GM to flesh it out.

Oh yeah, Mork Borg is totally on my need to get list. The thing is an artifact and like you say, it's something you should just have and read, even if you never play it. Like you say, not for your first roleplaying game for most people but for veterans or people who want something different and refreshing, yes.

It's heavily rigging from L.o.t.F.P. I think the layout reminds me of alot of that materiel. Probably why it's so close to my bedside.
