Since its introduction 78 years ago, this song has been sung by scores of gifted sopranos. Although I have not heard them all, it’s hard to imagine that any one of them could outdo Laura Osnes’ rendering here. Absolute perfection. She is a wonder!

I cannot begin to tell you how many times I have watched this. my mum first introduced me to carousel as a young child unfortunately my mum passed away in November 2019. She passed away after suffering 10-years of dementia. I've played this version to her and we have some. she is now no longer here but I am watching this as singer so very loudly and so very proudly!
