Holy shit, that was smokin. Took me way back! I have no doubt that Al would have given this his unflinching approval. The entire crew danced so beautifully on this track but serious hats off to the vocals. Gorgeous tone and smooth as silk. Bring some more of this r&b please. Thank you, gents.

One of my favorite Vocalists, Al Jarreau, a rehabilitation counselor, singer/musician, family man, and friend to many. An all-around great man. I miss you, Al. Love how the guy with the beard supported the high pitch with a friendly smile, this guitar, so easy and sophisticated and especially how the lead vocal decided to remove the autotune and rely on his own senses and pulled it out as analog and authentically as Al J would.. Great cover, Al J. would have loved it!

I was 10 years old and on school holidays at my grandmother's house in Rio de Janeiro when I watched the music video for this Al Jarreau classic for the first time. Impressive how this melody entered my heart and made me cry. Today, 40 years later, I still feel the same emotion and his work is simply speechless. Wonderful!!!

KB you champion 🔥🔥🔥 An unbelievable string arrangement and arguably the best bridge in pop music history. And yes it is the E Rhodes. Gerard is also a massive AJ fan like me do he made sure he got the right sound. We are all pretty chuffed at how this came out 🙏🙏

Slowed it down to half speed to hear it more clearly and I reckon it's clean - they both play the same notes in the run so it's intentional.

@@howiebradley9486it’s intentional, they halt on the G#, rest, then resolve on the A. Maybe disconcerting and unexpected, but intentional and in unison. It’s the same in the original.

When I saw you were covering Al Jarreau my first thought was how could a mere mortal capture the voice of the God of Smooth himself... . I tell you what, the vocals were exceptional. As for the musicians.....WoW you guys were born to play that Jazz-Yacht Rock fusion. It's a genre that most non musicians consider to be nice background music but doing it well is challenging. The balance, the layers were absolutely perfect.....fantastic guys.

Killer song! Really enjoy HSCC and how you have different top musicians and vocalists on your songs instead of the same people so they are better. Great trumpet and guitar solo on bridge and as usual, Con's bass playing is the glue that holds it all together

Great rendition of a classic “feel good” song. Glenn nailed it, and Jordan’s cameo took it sonic for a second or two…..great touch! I have to say it’s been great seeing James back with the HSCC. If there’s a better cleaner, more technically skilled guitar player anywhere, I sure haven’t heard them. Great work men….enjoy your weekend!

Yeah baby! Love that James Muller is up again! Right as I noticed him he made that little head bob gesture to the camera at the start of the video and it was funny because I literally said "Hey sweet it's James" and then he looked over and gave the head nod, lol!!! OK maybe you had to be there :) Anyway... What a smooooooth as butter cover! Everyone crushed it! Glen and Jordan's blended vocals on those harmonies....sublime!

The late percussionist Jeff Pacaro graced many tunes with his signature shuffles. This is a track he laid for Mr. Al Jarreau. Timeless fusion piece! I hope both musicians have touched the face of God.

"Mornin" is one of my all time favourite tunes I listened to as a Jazz lovin' teenager. Hearing this played by HSCC brought back memories. The only thing missing from it was Al Jarreau's SCAT towards the end. Would love to have heard some, but oh well. Nice Job regardless!

You know what? This band is AMAZING, and who knows their struggles, their songs in my opinion are SPOT ON, I am 69, haven’t listened to Chicago or earth wind fire etc, for YEARS, BUT NOW? Great playing, great arrangement and incredible vocals by Glenn (and this is not an easy song to sing due to the phrasing and range required). This really made me smile because I've been a huge Al Jarreau fan since the 80's, but I never imagined you would cover this song.

Perfect music for a perfect weekend with the man I love. Al Jarreau was the one that brought me and my love together....well his music that is. And everytime we hear his songs...my "perfect love" takes my hand and dances with me. He said so I can "hear his heart beating cause it's full of love for me." Cheesy...yes...but romantic...YES! HUGE Jarreau fan here, and when this popped up, I was hopeful yet very skeptical it would sound halfway decent. I cut my teeth on his tracks since the 70's, then made a career in L.A. as a drummer, now retired due to multiple surgeries. Anyway, gotta say, WAY better than I had expected, every cat is pulling their weight, Al would be proud if he heard this, great job everyone, H.S.C.C. never disappoints!!❤🙏🎵

It is impossible to even come close to Al's voice, but the guy singing does a great job. I was able to see him (AJ) live once. This version is fantastic. The instrumentation is out of this world.

Very tight. I think Al and his music would be difficult to cover. Great work everyone. You guys gave me a strong vibe of him. I’m 68 he was one of favorite vocal stylists. His bands were very tight. You all hit the jazz infusion perfectly. You got me moving my head real well. And I’m a tough one to get going that way.

IMO Glenn is one of the finest soul singers Australia has produced in relatively recent times. His range is incredible! I always like seeing him in HSCC and I also hope he gets the individual success he really deserves.

Ok, so I youtubed this song to my car and the sound on this recording is above the original sound and quality, and Glenn's voice on this is almost freakish. I feel like I'm listening to an updated recording from Al Jarreau. Amazing!
