Amazing video, just a tip: don’t knock the portafilter with the tamper, you may create channelling.

Another tip: You want to pull the shot as soon as you lock the portafilter into the machine.

I will recommend to warm up the machine with the portafilter lock it in, the portafilter need to be nice and warm before pulling a shot! It may cause some problems in extraction! I say that because I never saw the portafilter lock it in, but all in all the whole video was AWESOME!

yep, he definitely burned the espresso... although the latte art looks amazing but I'm sure it doesn't taste so good since every good latte starts with a good espresso, and also the brew flow is a bit too fast

Another thing to add on is get a flat tamper, the tamper that came with the LMLM is a convex, you will find that your shot will be just that bit more consistent.

I'm not sure if I understand this business with weighing and timing everything. I live in Italy for half my life and never saw a barrista weigh the coffee or time the extraction but the espresso here is always good.

Question: why do you transfer the milk from one pitcher to another? I understand if you frothed too much milk but it seems like you poured in all of it.

The first time hasn't changed But if the extraction is not correct, I will adjust the grinder.

Btw if you just turn the brew paddle really quick it will wake up from standby. I only use app if I am still in bed, haha

hı, ı wondering something too much, ı would be pleasure if you answer. I have delonghi ec685 like you, as well. I'm thinking about buy a new tamper- ı'm sick of its own plastic tamper. Is a 58 mm tamper fit to my ec685's pot? what type of tamper will fit my ec685?

What's the purpose of the scale if you've already measured the amount of coffee? Were you calibrating the machine? That scale is like training wheels for someone that's just learning. Have you taken the training wheels off or do you do this every time? I understand if you don't have it down yet. Just asking. It looks like you tried to make this video so professional, but to someone that's been making espresso for over 30 years, you look like an amateur that's trying to show off. I guess it looks cool for people that don't have any experience with making espresso.

@Chris Campbell I just re-watched this and didn't see anything wrong with his method. The only thing I could suggest is to grind the beans just a tiny, tiny bit finer. I'm saying that because of the yield amount vs. the pull time. Other than that, I would have him ignore everything else I said. I'm an angry old man that needs to relearn my manners. So sorry about that.

Annoying to see all these "Tips" The creator of this video has obviously spent alot of time and effort to make a brilliant, immersive coffee making video. Not a "How to video". That should be where the constructive criticism is aimed towards and I can guarantee the best in the industry would find it hard to pick even the slightest of criticisms. If you want to echo what you see and learn from other youtube videos or your own experience then make yourself useful and comment on a reddit or discord post or something. Fantastic job on the production of this video and well done @Arty Home.
