US sharemarkets started the week by logging new record highs on Monday, despite only modest moves. The Dow Jones index eased by 31 points or 0.1%, the S&P 500 index gained 5.7 points or 0.1% and the Nasdaq index rose 51 points or 0.3%. The modest moves reflected investor focus on key events in coming days, most prominently Fed Chairman Powell's two days of testimony before congressional committees, starting tonight local time, followed by consumer and producer inflation reports later in the week; all bookended by the start of the second quarter company earnings season at week's end. Tech names with leading gains incuded Super Micro Computer & Intel +6%, Advanced Micro Devices +4%. Leading decliners featured Chipotle -5% & Nike -3%
