I agree. It is a brilliant title sequence. When I first started watching the series years ago, I had no idea what it was all about. I just stumbled on its opening while flipping channels. I immediately grasped that this show was going to be dark and sinister (wordplay intended) just by watching the "violent" imagery. Great choice of music, too!

Yeah agreed, from the slight little smirk when he kills the mosquito to the knowing little smirk at the end as he walks past, i knew i was going to like this show when i saw the opening credits heh.

the intro just represents an overview of Dexter's mornings. It is not necessarily the same morning (That is it shows him having the steak one morning and then having eggs in another). Proof of that is that he's seen shaving at the beginning of the intro but then he's got a short beard at the end.

How I think of it, as I’ve told my friends who also like dexter is that dexter is now undecided in who he is as person, he doesn’t accept his urges and he doesn’t know how to deal with them but in the original series he accepted his urges, he dealt with them accordingly and lived the best possible life that he could. In this sense he lived his life in acceptance, we can see this in the way his manically makes his breakfast with a killers efficiency but in the new season there is no intro because he barely understands who he is, the new dexter is taking it day by day; there’s no way he can enjoy a simple breakfast

Nick Leydon I get why he had to be alone at the end. But the execution of ending was terrible and pacing was crazy off. Almost the whole finale he was trying to get back to hanna and harrison, then because Deb got killed (over some stupid shit) he SUDDENLY changed his whole perspective and goals in the last 10-15 minutes. If he had to decide to be alone and had to fake his death, you need to pace it out and take your time showing it so the audience could follow Dexter's mindset. But they didn't do that and threw us a fucking doozy that we werent prepared for. BUT also come on, a lumberjack? REALLY? Its so fucking random. At least make it something more reasonable, like something involving boats and ocean, considering how much he loves the ocean. BUT in my honest opinion, dying and/or being caught would be far better. I really wanted to see people's reaction to who he REALLY was and would love to see his story close to some dramatic death scene where he contemplates his life journey and all the seasons. It would be poignant and sad and FAR better than a random ass lumberjack, in fucktown USA, staring into the camera looking depressed af.

Why? Because its not a happy ending? Because you as a viewer didnt get what you want? The Show has always been about the perspective of a serial killer, a murderer. Life isnt fair, Life isnt the way you want it to be, doesnt matter what your intentions are. The ending conveys exactly the message that the whole series tries to deliver to the viewer: Serial killers arent normal people. They cant just act as if they are a normal part of the society while meanwhile murdering people and expect to have a normal life. Get over yourself. The ending has a complex and shocking turn, its defenitely not shitty. You maybe dont like it because you are used to series kissing your feet with happy endings or bad endings, that dont destroy every glimpse of hope for the most loved character in them, but that doesnt make a sad or maybe really "awful" ending for the characters, awful when it comes to the writing itself. Gosh am I tired about that stupid mindset. You didnt like it, nice for you. But that doesnt make it shitty.

I would say it was one of the better seasons but the last 10 minutes ruined it,. They managed to make it worse than the last ending how do you f up twice and make it even worse at least with Dexter Original ending You Assumed Dexter never killed again, Harrison and Hannah lived a happy and healthy life and Harrison never knew But wish they remade this intro with the same music but with a snow theme This intro I never skipped and I've seen a lot of shows this is one is easily my favourite Dexter really had Great music Outro was great too
