My skincare routine every night consists of multiple layers of toner, serum, lotion, creams (sometimes overnight masks) so I definitely feel the need to cleanse in the morning! I just believe that oxidised skincare products mixed with face oils left on your face is just as bad for your skin as overnight makeup. That being said though, gentle cleansing I feel, is the way to go so I use a gentle foaming wash (e.g. Estes Lauder's Soft Clean) or a light weight cleansing oil (I like L'occitane's Immortelle Cleansing Oil). :)

I have seborrheic dermatitis and dry patchy skin.However the falky residue piles up on my forehead making it greasy ,when I wake up.Vichy's micellar water works great for swiping away this grease and preparing a clean slate fir serum and sunscreen.Avene micellar water is good too. Rinsing with any lathering wash is completely no for me.

My absolute HOLY GRAIL morning cleanser is the new Cerave SA Renewal Cleanser. Very gentle and leaves a nice, but not over-dried, clean finish - AND it's afforable. I have very acne prone skin, and ever since i added this to my skin routine, my skin has never been more clear! 100% recommend to anyone. In my opinion, Cerave cleansers definitely outdue Cetaphil (which i stopped using due to the Sodium Lauryl Sulfate)

Few years back my derma recommended cetaphil products for my sensitive skin and even though they did no harm,I was never satisfied.My skin never felt clean and the moisturiser had to be reapplied again and again.Its been two years since I started Cerave PM lotion and there's no looking back.The face wash,AM lotion everything are just amazing.other than Cerave,only Neutrogena's gentle cleansing milk has worked for my sensitive skin.

I have only recently just discovered your KZfaq channel, and within only one week have become totally obsessed, i've been binge watching all of them, I love that you take time to talk about the basics, cleansing, long haul flight regimes, foundation, no make-up looks etc., you're content is amazing! I swear you need to be earning some serious commission from all these products you recommend because no joke within a week I have purchased at least 25 items as a direct result from watching these videos, I love that you have taken the time to accurately list each item underneath the videos and you clearly state within the videos also which items you are mentioning, it's surprising how many tutorial videos don't do this.

I have combination skin and personally the most effective thing for me is to just wash my face with cool water. I don't feel the need to use a cleanser and my skin seems to respond well to this as I hardly get any blemishes lately. The cool water benefits my puffy under eye bags too! If I have any eye make up left then I will use some micellar water to remove it.

I just have the curiosity because , you are so delicate and you never exaggerate anything , you are a real artist for me, because you highlight the natural pretty features of the face of a woman ....that's all , (you're the best 💜)

I just wanted to add that the more mature skin type that doesn't want the fillers, Botox , or any of that just naturally mature aging skin with fine lines. In this world today it seems to be way less natural & not much help as far as aging then pumping everything & anything that can be pumped (some that should not as well) !! I find more beauty in the natural aging process than trying to fight it using every measure thought up. It would be nice to see this topic on KZfaq channels. If you are not 12-25 years old the "tips" given are useless. That being said it would be really nice to have real tips for real women who want to look good using the power of makeup without the power of needles. It would be so appreciated if you would give the tips you have & maybe even use on the more mature women.

There is this very well known french skincare specialist, Joelle Ciocco who, according to a french beauty blogger, recommends to not wash the face with cleansing products in the morning. The reason being is that during the night the skin renovates and rebuilds a lipidique protective layer (or something on those lines) that should not be washed away... apparently just a bit of water would be enough...

Your makeup looks so fresh and bright in the video. Love it. Often I just do a quick rinse with warm water, other times when I've had a thick cream on overnight I'll use a small amount of cleanser. And then there's those mornings where my skin looks like the poster child for "winter face". That calls for an exfoliating cleanser and a good facial massage to get everything looking a little more lively.

i wash my face with lukewarm water to get rid of anything (eyeboogers, fluff from pillows) then i splash it with the coldest eater from the tap to wake myself up. it is always a shock but i like to do it because I'll feel better afterwords. it also tightens my skin and i think ot closes pores.
@LitcheTheArsm
@LitcheTheArsm 8 жыл бұрын
+Nitne Lav the coldest setting on the tap is not too cold for the skin and you know what, using cold water, while as you mentioned does NOT close the pores since it's impossible, cools the skin and makes it produce less oil! heating the skin makes it sweat and produce more oil so while Imola Szilágyi didn't pin point the reason why it's good it is actually a great thing to do after washing the face. I do it every day and it works wonders.
@LitcheTheArsm
@LitcheTheArsm 8 жыл бұрын
***** well first of all cold water can mean a lot of things and once again, turning the tap water from 'shower-warm' to 'slightly uncomfortable-yet-refreshing' is most likely NOT harmful for the skin. the reason why warm water is bad for the skin is because it strips it of all the oils so as a reaction the skin will quickly produce more oil. that tight feeling after a warm shower some experience is because the oils were stripped. what do we do when we're warm?? we sweat. this is why the face will sweat while simultaneously produce a bunch of oils after a shower/washing with warm water. this is not ideal if you want to put essence, serums, lotion and makeup on since it'll hinder the absorption of the essence/serum+lotion and afterwards make your face greasy and yucky a lot faster because of the increased sweat+oil production! also switching from warm to cold has proven to help blood circulation(scientifically), and when putting essence or serums on your face an increased blood circulation means the product will be absorbed better! i never promoted extreme difference in temperature so i do find your critique to be uncalled for. ever since i've started splashing my face with cold water after washing it i've noticed a big improvement in my skins complexion + the durability of my makeup so i don't think you should be so quick to judge this method.
@mmmmmmolly
@mmmmmmolly 8 жыл бұрын
well this escalated quickly. i'm not sure of the science behind cold water, i just shared what i experienced. my face does feel tighter and it does wake me up. but i didn't suggest anyone sould do the same. and i'm prety sure it's less harmful then a lot of chemicals in cleansers. i use a cleanser in the evening, i don't feel the need to use it in the morning for now.

Hi, you sooo need to check out Cristina Radu skincare. I read Cindy Crawford goes to her amongst lots of others. I emailed her and she was good enough to email me back days later. I rang her at her salon in LA and she was so lovely. She told me not to use acids like AHAs BHAs but you should use hyaluronic acid which hydrates. Read her press tab, I am so happy I found her x

+Niall Kavanagh Hi Niall, thanks very much for responding. I just can't find any other milk cleanser as lovely as LRP. I don't use anything with acids, check out Cristina Radu skincare and go into her press tab. Cristina explains why she doesn't like acids with the exception of hyaluronic acid which is great for hydration x

My skin is unbalanced, I use products for sensitive skin and it doesn't feel clean, I use products for dry skin and my face becomes oily, so I switch to products for oily or combo skin and I still get dry patches. My skin feels extremely rough and dehydrated after a shower, even though I don't use very hot water. I have persistent acne on my cheeks that never goes away, and I just don't know what to do. :(

I feel bad that I keep commenting the same thing but I had identical issues with my skin for a decade so I relate. I hope you can afford trying the following because they work. Try the Dr. Dennis Gross extra strength alpha beta peel pads. But make sure they're extra strength. They're full of acids and retinol and they not only help with acne, they get rid of dry patches, reduce pores and wrinkles. They're incredible. Look up reviews on Sephora? Way over a thousand reviews and almost every one is 5 stars. Dennis Gross also has an even more effective product. The medi spa pads. There's like 15 acids and they're amazing! I've tried so much skincare and nothing comes close to that one. They really make skin glow. I like using both pads though. They're expensive but both are soaked so I cut them in half. The medi spa ones you can even cut in thirds.

I had the same issues for years. Very very sensitive skin which break out often. You should try to use products for sensitive skin with no perfume no alcohol no salicylic acid and see if your skin feels better :-) Also 6 months ago I realised that my skin does not like tap water. I only use still water on my face now and my skin became 100% clear. I saw the difference in 3 days. That is cheap so give it a try. Good luck !

Now if you can afford it, I would also recommend the MV skincare gentle cream cleanser. I found that most cleansers compromised the skin acid mantle so it caused acne. Especially acne cleansers. I finally found the Peter Thomas Roth foaming cleanser, which is pretty good. I heard about the MV one but I was afraid a cream cleanser wouldn't clean well. Turns out it cleans even better and removed some tiny hard under the skin pimples I couldn't get rid of. But you need a muslin cloth. I prefer the Eve Lom ones. It's unfortunate the cleanser is expensive though. It's around $50. But it lasts a long time. The Peter Thomas one is $32. The other thing that I struggled with was finding a moisturizer that worked without clogging my pores. The Mv rose soothing moisturizer is thick but it doesn't clog pores. When you use it with a spritz of mist it lasts a very long time. This one is crazy expensive. But you can get the sample which lasts well. Hope this helps.

***** thank you! I've heard so much about Paula's Choice, but unfortunately they don't ship to my country :( My skin also turns red. It makes me insecure to use blush because I feel like I am just adding what I tried to remove with foundation coverage. But I look pretty dead without it, because I'm really pale. I'm currently trying to use up products I already own because I have the bad habit of hoarding products and leaving them half empty. I have an organic olive oil cleansing bar which is quite nice, but I feel like it doesn't actually combat the acne. It doesn't dry my skin out, but it doesn't treat the blemishes either.

abirsashee thanks for the recommendation! The Sephora where I live (Greece) is frankly, a nightmare. Absolutely not worth the brand title that's associated with a beauty empire in the US, but anyway :cough:. I'm 99% positive they don't carry that brand, unfortunately. I've been thinking of looking into some AHAs or BHA products, I just get worried that it will irritate my skin further. I have small burst vessels on my cheek and the persistent redness and I'm only 25, so I've had them pretty much since puberty and it's never budged, at all. It's like when acne is beginning to fade and it's a red dot, but it's just there, all the time.

oil can be disastrous for acne-prone skin. it's NOT a preference. lol. i had the worst acne bout - and i'm talking cystic acne - after embarking on the MUA oil cleansing method craze, with jojoba oil. it was an absolute nightmare, and i won't ever come close to jojoba oil again and advise against it to anyone acne prone.

+Damsel289 The oils she mentioned (and most other oil cleansers) are not pure oils exactly. They emulsify and break down with water. Its therefore less likely that someone would have such an adverse reaction.

+Damsel289 Not all oils are good for all skin types. There is an issue of both comedogenic rating and the ratio of linoleic to oliec acid.. as well as the possibility of allergy which is there with any product. Sunflower (what I use) is fabulous for acne prone skin... coconut is one of the worst even though it is so highly hyped and some people have great success with it. I happen to be allergic to argan, breaks me out in a rash. Coconut breaks me out in cystic acne pretty much on contact. Jojoba is a 2 out of 5 on the comedogenic scale and is balanced in oleic and linoleic acid and I can tolerate it in small doses.. for acne prone skin go for a 0 comedogenic and high linoleic (which sunflower is both). Google for more info.. lots of different oils and they all have different attributes. Also watch out for the purity of the oil.. it's really common for companies to blend different oils and even add mineral oil or silicones.. got to read those labels. The last bottle of sunflower I bought turned out to be 20% olive, and I'm usually really good about label checking. Luckily olive doesn't bother me.

+weazerrr i use kiehl's midnight recovery oil. i use about 6 drops a night and i feel like my skins hydrated and healthier for it. however, because it's $46/oz and because i think they test on animals (or at least their parent company does), i'll look for a cheaper alternative once i run out.

Used to use a cleanser every morning but now I have little spray bottle that I add a few drops of pure tea tree oil and fill the rest with water. So now I just mist over my face in the morning. It wakes me up, gets rid of any residue and is anti-bacterial, perfect for my combination & sensitive skin. Thanks for the video, Lisa! 😘

I am so in love with my Sum:37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick. It's made from fermented roses, I think, and it's essentially a soap in stick form, so it's great for travel. Unlike regular soap, it's really gentle and makes a creamy, nourishing foam that leaves my skin feeling really clean but not dry and squeaky. There are also little bits of rose petals running through the soap, which is just so lovely. And most importantly, it smells beautiful!
