Morocco has long been one of the world's largest producers of cannabis resin, but it's a trade that was illicit and unregulated. For decades, authorities cracked down on the hashish trade, one of the few industries open to the impoverished people of the Rif. But now, restrictions around cannabis have been relaxed for medicinal, cosmetic, and industrial uses - opening the way for a whole new growth industry.

Ecstacy in europe is old news. Full of filler now-days, worth avoiding. No matter where it comes from, almost always is something done to it. I used to roll off every weekend but that was 2006 - 2010 when it was still good. and those days are over we have all moved on to bigger and better things than drugs

Great idea , Morocco could sell its cannabis to the USA , Canada , Thailand , Amsterdam , Georgia , etc... , to all the countries who legalized medicinal cannabis or just cannabis in general. @@delavan9141 this is just one region in Morocco , Moroccan marijuana is one of the top quality in the world , and this documentary is really short to capture all the wide range of marijuana and hashish there. Also , I was not talking about quality , but about how it would help the poor regions of Morocco and could even help the whole economy of Morocco , but its a Muslim country afterall with a strict monarchy , so that would be an issue. If USA and Canada have better weed , then Morocco can export to Europe , its more closer and cheaper to export

Treat it like a normal plant and don’t try to over tax it or to make profit. Until that you cannot blame big corporation of being greedy. This plant was made by god for his medical benefits not to make money as everybody believes. They legalised only for the money not for the health and the benefits of the people, the big problem of the legalisation itself it’s this also in the US and recently in Thailand. Raphael Mechoulam is often referred to as the "father of cannabis research" because of his pioneering work in the field. In 1963, he successfully isolated and elucidated the chemical structure of cannabidiol (CBD), one of the primary non-psychoactive compounds found in the cannabis plant. A year later, in 1964, he and his research team were the first to isolate and synthesize delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the main psychoactive compound responsible for the "high" associated with marijuana consumption. He has the answers to all your questions

When I was in the Rif a local grower said that the King has his own plantation and that bricks of his hash are printed with the Royal Seal. But I was very high at the time and he could have been saying something else.

went to morocco for a week for what we called our hash pilgrimage with my friends, absolutely insane. met some dealers who just gave us a bunch of hash for free, like 50 grams, the shit didnt matter to them, they had so much of it and they did not care for it. at the end we couldnt smoke it all so we had to throw it out on the way to the airport

Small scale farmers can never have the economies of scale that large companies enjoy. The way to reduce this difference would be for small scale farmers to club together into voluntary collectives. By sharing resources, farmers can make considerable savings, and community values are thereby maximized.

Very interesting. Cannabis is the future of Africa. The laboratory should experiment hashish from other areas on potency.

Good point there! I'd just add that those big pharma corporations, just like the majority of the Moroccan economy and natural resources, are most definitely Royal (belong to the king, his family and a few other 'elite' families)

I cant see the poor farmers competing against people with access to strains that contain the compounds of interest. This game is just as much genetics as it is farming imo.
