What a soulful sultry voice. Just received "Breakfast In Bed" and "One of Us" CD's in the mail. I'm the kind of person that has to listen and appreciate over and over to get the full affect. That's why I love the Grateful Dead so much, their music is complex, evolving, and powerful. I love The Beach Boys Harmonies. Can you imagine Ms. Osborne covering "God Only Knows" or "I Can Hear Music"? Sorry, but I digress, the music just stirs my soul. Peace, out

@dsrtflwr Thank you. As I said, I love the baritone, but Mulligan never played his as low as the one on this tune. He always played the top half of the range of his horn. Parenthetically, I'm going to see Joan Osborne at the Coach House on the 21st. I'm really looking forward to that.

They did do the sound effect on purpose, it sounds just like that on the cd and in the official video. I remember seeing this performance of Baby Love and getting the song the next day, I was so in love with it.

Wow! Ms. Osborne really caught me eye when she was touring with The Dead a few years ago. Her rendition of Mr. Charlie really got my blood going. She has grown on me ever since. New to You Tube, have viewed Baby Love about 25 times in the last 2 days. Started as a joke Just a lazy little poke Cheers

I think it's cute the way she wears white socks with her sandals. When I wear socks with my sandals I look like that bald guy from Tenacious D. Keep up the good work J. Peace, out

@samdh4 I've never seen or heard a bass sax before, but I think that's one of them. My favorite musical instrument is the baritone sax, played by Gerry Mulligan, but I love the deep, resonant sound of this bass.

timjmoran. I agree with the Nasal sound observation. Find that like fingernails on a blackboard. Without it she has a nice voice and has made some good music. She's at San Diego fair tonight. Might go along to see her.

it's a great performance, but it would've been much greater if the guy on the board were phasing out the compression when she gets to the end of each section and unloads. She has such a full spectrum strong voice, it's a shame to hide the fullness with compression when she cuts loose.

WTF did they do to her voice? Sounds like she's singing through a megaphone? If that was an intentional effect, I don't (personally) think it works with this song.

what the hell is with the microphone effect? if that even is an effect. it's fine for the album version. but she's known for having such a powerful live voice. this just sounds terrible. and looks very unreal. sorry joan. but even britney does a better job lip synching. still love ya though.
