Netherrealm goes all out with the mocap. Even MK9's facial animations by todays standards aren't bad and many studios can't even match that game.

@@ryanjohnson3239 it’s honestly insane how far the graphics have come. Like if I’m being honest none of the Mk games have really ever had good graphics until Mk11. MKvsDC well into MKX looked pretty rough and clunky. The models and movements didn’t look that well polished or rendered. Mk11 was the first game that the models look incredible in and very realistic and Mk1 you sometimes totally forget you are even playing a game and like you are watching a live action move. It’s almost uncanny valley how realistic they look now compared to MK9 where it was only like negligibly better than the 3D games.

Quan Chi's first appearance in this game was a pretty neat subversion! At this point in time, the "prophet" Shao described, judging by the information we had, we most assuredly assumed he was SHang Tsung, but then out comes this sorcerer from the Nether Realm looking the best he ever has!

I don’t like that they made him from Outworld. I think him being a demon from the Netherrealm and being Shinnok’s main goon gave him a far more interesting unique place within the story than being some random outworlder. I think that’s what makes him a cool counterpart to Shang Tsung. Shang Tsung being an Outworld based human sorcerer from Earthrrealm while Quan Chi was a demon sorcerer from the Netherrealm made their relationship as the Deadly Alliance more interesting.

When I saw Quan Chi for the first time in this game, I was generally confused as to why his skin tone looked off. At first, I thought it was the lighting of the game, but when we got to this scene, 18:37, I realized that Quan Chi was pulling a pre-Ghost of Sparta Kratos. Where he had regular skin, but something happened that made Quan Chi pale as a ghost.

I do hope we get some of the heroic/villainous versions of characters who are normally villains/heroes respectively in DLC; the good versions of the villains, and bad versions of the heroes, all look awesome. Bonus points if we actually get special dialogue.

Yeah, in the previous timeline quan chi was a demon/oni from the netherealm. But here it seems he was a coal miner from outworld, till titan shang came and taught him the dark magic, however i dont know how he took control of many demons in netherealm? Did he just go to there and used his magic to enslave the demons? Since he's only an outworlder.
