Hey everyone, I'm not dead, and I will try to return to posting regularly again. Today I just wanted to rant about the game I've been playing non-stop the last 3 weeks.

One of my favorite bugs happened in a stream where one of the subtitles in story mode got replaced by a placeholder file name that called this game Mortal Kombat 12, which probably gave Ed Boon an aneurysm considering how insistent that people call this MK!.

I was so disappointed with this game and it's lack of content, that I honestly went back to playing MK11. This game was clearly rushed and is unfinished, in it's current state.

Mk11 is the better game, for better or worse. The Kameo system is so stupid, and serves no innovative purpose, besides looking like an Unfinished tag system. I for one didn't spend a dime on this trash. MK1 looked awful right from it's gameplay reveal. No fancy graphics could hide it from me.

The worst part, is that it is fun. The ending is bad but the story is enjoyable, the game is stupidly fun, and the graphics are beutiful, but beyond that it is a scrawny game. I don't doubt the game will receive content and basic features will be added (as fucked up as it sounds) but it pains me how probably the best MK we would have had since MK9 is so lacky and affected by greed. They amoraly charge 70 bucks for a game and then put 3 relevant characters to the story on sale, then charge 10 dollars for each skin. I don't uninstall it just because I like playing the kombat league and recently had a lot of parties in which some friends would gather for a bit to have a few matches, but besides all of that, and if they don't add/fix most the problems it has, as good as it is I would call it the worst Mortal Kombat to ever exist (It already has the worst release from any MK ever)

I have a lot of trouble bringing myself to play more, no matter how much i'd like. I've really enjoyed casual MK and Injustice gameplay. I've spent so much time in in Multiverse and MK Towers of Time, because there was always some reward at the end of it, be it lootbox or gear and skins. Now that the somewhat arduous Invasions is complete, I have nothing to keep me playing offline.

the game is disgustingly broken, i knew and expected this, but my god, the simplicity and the broken mechanisms even in the most simple moves. I thought MK 11 was bad, but this? Jesus christ this is not even a game anymore. Its focused around Lazy Cameos, that do not make sense, most of them dont do anything, and people just keep spamming stupid cyrax to wack you into the air for free cheap shots and combos that take out 50% of your health bar, and all it takes is one wrong block or glitchy hit. I've had the game for 1 week now, and I already won over 30 matches with Reptile, but against people like Raiden, his combos dont even make sense, his flying attack is awkward and goes too low making it impossible you to counter it, even reptiles lizard bite attack gets wrecked even in the EX version. Raidens cartwheel kick is disgusting and basically impossible to block, his lightning grab is retarded because they can literally just spam it 3 times with meter and then combo you agan, if you get caught in 1 combo its easy 50% gone, even the noobiest of the noobs can pull it off. Theres no skill anymore, its just about who can come up with the cheapest shit the fastest with their stupid ass "cameo" crutch character. Frost literally just jumps in and freezes your foot, it takes less than 0.5 seconds, thats how fast it is, idc how good you are, when someone is hitting you and then some bitch jumps in and throws ice at your foot, you're gonna get caught, its BROKEN. There is no reaction timing anymore, because theres no time to react.

Fan since 1992 (I'm 44) and this is the first time that I've felt genuinely scammed by NRS/MIDWAY this game is an embarrassment for many reasons. Lack of content and poor kameo system being the top of the spear.

lmao dude i've had the game for a week, ask me anything, I can easily tell you this is the most broken fighting game Ive ever played. I won over 40 matches already, but everyone just picks the same shit literally, johnny cage and raiden, nobody bothers with the other characters because they're just focused on broken moves. Also Kenshi is disgusting.... Literally has a spirit behind you wacking you while the idiot player mashes square and triangle. Plus the cameo? So its 3 against 1? You cant even jump back to get some distance because the spirit is wacking you from behind. So you're forced to turtle and block like an idiot until your chip damage ends up killing you, forward jump? Nope. Back jump? Nope. Block and anticipate an endless barrage coming from both sides? Yep, thats your only option and chance to not die in 5 seconds. And to make it even worse, while kenshi is slashing at you like a barbarian, his meter is building up too, so guess what? Now its free Xray time! so if you manage to block out of the xray, odds are you'll wind back up in that barrage combo from the spirit. Thats just 1 character. Johnny cage is disgusting for many other reasons, I could literally talk about this in great detail for half an hour, I think im gonna make a video about this lmao

I love MK1 but you perfectly encapsulated all the problems I have with it. Instant sub. The gameplay is amazing, very refreshing after coming off of the slower paced MK11 (which I still enjoyed), but MK1’s biggest flaw is that it’s unfinished. It’s severely lacking in content. I heard it started as Injustice 3 but they decided to overhaul everything last minute v& scrambled to make a new MK game.

The crossplay thing is weird. It was in all the advertisement and on the steam page, and about a week before launch they removed it. I'm hoping they end up going through with it soon though.

Local Player 2 cannot use palette/skin/gear (always default looking character) and can't choose an arena. Imagine playing with your homie, child or girlfriend. Just wow. Refunded.

How does this story makes sense with multiverse. How is there multiple timelines where every fighter defeats Kronika when Kronika said in mk11 that there no possible way of Raiden beating her then he suprised her by fusing with Liu Kang that was litteraly the only way this story dosen't make any sense. Also mk11 has way better cutscenes and everything in story . I watched people play mk11 story multiple times i can't even watch mk1 two times it so boring

I'm going to wait until the Kombat pack 2 or 3 since they have been doing it for a while Yeah it's crappy that Ermac and Quan-Chi were in the story but are locked to the Kombat pack. Shang Tsung we already knew just like in 11 was going to be DLC which is sad. I knew the roster was smaller Yeah the interactions aren't as great as 11 Also what's with Jade be SHAFTED AGAIN?

Preach 🙏🙏🙏🙏💯💯💯💯💯💯🙏🙏 Kameo was a stupid idea. Should've just made it tag team Tag Team fatals and tag moves like in Tekken Tag 2. Kameos felt weird last year and hasn't aged well since then. They should've made Onaga The Dragon King the true boss of the game. Everyone included myself was disappointed when it was basically Shang Tsung. A great way they could've made that boss fight interesting is if we fought The Deadly Alliance via Tag Team. it would be would've been a interesting twist on a classic fight.

I believed this was going to be an injustice 3 and, at the last moment, they switch to a new mk (unfinished version) the kameo system is dumb and poor (if you compare it with other games like db fighterz..) the lack of single player content and skins make the game boring af. And in online mode you have 3 round and most of the rewards are crap. As a Midway veteran I'm really dissapointed with the game😪 so I agree with you 1000%

I dont even need to watch the video, just here to say its an absolute mess, and the worst freakin part is that if you genuinely and passionately want to master a game, it sucks to see that online people just use raiden, johnny cage and sub zero, and spam literally the EXACT same moves and "combos" which this game severely does not have. Its incredibly heart breaking for me, someone who comes from MK 2 on the Snes, to see what these games have become, what developers have become like, and what is to be expected of them, its truly saddening and I have anxiety just writing this, makes me wanna cry seeing the sad state that these once beautiful and original games have become. Johnny cage went from being charming, witty, and classic funny guy into a COMPLETE douchebag that says and does the most cringey and messed up things. Like dude, he literally flicks you off with both middle fingers in the start of the match, he literally makes sexual gestures and says the most messed up things. This is not MK, this is Politics, and its disgusting to see in video games!

My only komplaints are the story.....I personally don't play fighter's cause I am trash but enjoy the story and yikes the story drops it at the end HARD....from the fire garden talking about preparing for a multidimensional war to armageddon tower with mix match npc enemies then a meh final fight with shang tsung.....its like they couldn't figure out what they wanted to do and said fuck it let's do all of it.....the best they could do with it in my opinion make the end lead up to the beginning of this multi timeline war then leave it to the next game or make a dlc for the timeline war.

I don't feel it's worth it yet tbh, maybe after kombat pack 2 is revealed,!but the game lacks so much of what MK games used to have like stage fatalities. Also the roster isn't even complete on launch that alone made me iffy about buying

also -there is no mercys like they were in mk11??? -with the lack of skins why dont they just take the skins from mk11 and port them idk if is too hard but dark raiden,mk2 ninjas skin, and titan shang tsung are some examples that are in the game -the lack of customization i mean why there is no loadouts???? and only 1 customizable gear piece is a real downgrade , i think the problem with mk11 was that the 3rd gear slot was the least important thing in the character but atleast if they made a accesory/weapon gear in mk1 it wouldnt be so bad like i need kitana unmasked 😭😭😭

also i hope that the other dlc characters releases with more skins unlike omniman that he only had 1 skin with only SIX palettes like at least a viltrumite skin i was hoping but nothing . mk11 each dlc character released with 4 skins and 10 "palettes" each so i dont get why netherrealm wouldnt follow their previous steps

I am beyond sickened as a kronika fan- she should have been playable. The roster is underwhelming & boring. Game is laggy & choppy & audio still goes dead in practice mode. I’ll come back when kronika is playable. Gameplay isn’t enough to be the better game. A fighting game is only as strong as it’s roster. & mk1 fails.

The lame DLC characters also. It’s abundantly obvious these were guests they contracted for Injustice 3, but just shoved them into MK1 when they changed their mind about what game to release next. Superheroes, even antihero types, just don’t fit in this universe. At least they didn’t give us Joker in 3 games in a row I guess. I could care less about B list superhero characters in a mortal kombat game when NRS have anther IP 100% dedicated to superheroes. There’s so much laziness & cash grabbing with this title. I uninstalled as soon as Tekken 8 dropped. If they’d focused on cross play and everything else wrong with the game I may feel different, but their primary focus has been on DLC, micro transactions & saving money on guests for another title by shoving them into this one, before the contractual period expires. Typical WB crap. It’ll likely be my last MK purchase ever unless Boon finds his IP a less scummy publisher for the next one.

I honestly didn’t even consider this game. I’ve seen the gameplay and there’s practically no content. Friend bought it for her ps5 and I played it with her. We immediately switch back to mortal kombat 11 because it’s our favorite by far. She soon returned the game. I genuinely feel bad for anyone who picked this up on switch. I have 11 on switch and it plays, looks and runs better while having more content and taking up less then half the storage of 1. I demoed the game with my modded switch to see if it would be worth buying and uninstalled it in less then 24 hours. I overclocked my system and it still suffered from lag, tearing and excess bugs in single player mode

You're missing the point. This game should've been held back and it shouldn't have costed $70 or more for what it is. They had 4 years and 5 months to do a lot better than what they've given. Like I've said already, I expect no game to be perfect. But they dropped the ball hard....again 💯

Everything after Mk 9 were downgrades. Over the years since Mk X(garbage) just took spots to add new fighters when they should have used classic characters. My rankings Mk9 - 10/10 MkX- 4.5/10 Mk 11- 7/10 Mk 1- 3.0/10 It was I’ll only keep going downhill from here

No stage fatalities was the end for me I can actually say I am truly finished with mortal kombat they fatalities and killed this game I've been playing for 30 damn years. Unbelievable 😭😭😭 And these dlc's coming are garbage nobody ever said or wanted these characters might as well add bugs bunny and scooby do the bastards 😡😡😡😡😡
