I do like how Liu Kang and Kitana don't flirt in this game. She may be Kitana, but she's not HIS Kitana. She has different experiences, and they made her a different person. To pursue her would make him unfaithful to the one he shares all those precious memories with. Which is why he and Titan Kitana began making out almost immediately.

I think we'll still Liutana with this Kitana, just a differen Liu Kang. And, yes, I do agree it is good he stayed faithful (guess, we could use this term, though he probably wouldn't have had they not made it into the multiverse of some sort, and would, too, be ok) to his Kitana, 'cause this Kitana will probably have her Liu Kang eventually (I mean, yes, Raiden borrowed one of Liutana's lines, but she wasn't that impressed, and in the intros it still seems like she has a crush on Liu Kang, even though they don't flirt or anything, she's genuinely curious about him and the titan versions of them, whereas with Raiden she shuts him down and, even though she admittedly respects him, she doesn't appear to show any signs of interest, therefore we'll probably get the new Liutana🫠)

So this Kitana knows about Liu Kang being with her Titan counterpart. Asks questions to Geras about Liu Kang. It seems this Kitana is curious about Liu Kangs history and what was up with him. The fact she noticed Liu Kang and Titan counterpart probably raised questions to Kitana about other versions of herself in previous timelines. Maybe I'm looking into it too much but i find it funny she just noticed things about Liu Kang and you wouldn't notice because it's not his Kitana. Dang !

I think Ed Boon will make her character more interesting. New Kitana might be faliing in love with Fire God Liu Kang which is forbidden. She might turn evil attempting to get the Titan powers to be with Liu Kang or something like that. There's a lot of possibility now.

@@spiderhulk26 there cannot be. But it is said timelines are left intertwined, meaning a Liu Kang might get in the timeline from any other one (I'm rooting for Kitana's, for obvious reasons). Also, there's no good reason to say Liu's no longer immortal, so he'll die and, as a titan, won't ever be ressurrested again until it's again all over again, unless they're planning on bringing another Liu to the story. And there's no sense in making Raiden more Raiden if he's supposed to take Liu's place in the timeline forever. It's the storytelling poin x logic x hope for me.

@yellowbeard1 The Coliseum was where Shao Khan enjoyed blood sports and also where he hosted Mortal Kombat for his own entertainment. The island makes reference at how Shang Tsung owned an island where he plotted and made all of his most twisted experiments and no one knew anything.

As much as I love Kitana’s love and loyalty towards Mileena I hate the fact that she’s starting to sound like Jade. Her unwavering loyalty seems to take precedent over logic, which is dumb considering the fact that she’s been alive for over 10,000 years.

I think she is mostly loyal to the empire and Mileena just happens to be the firstborn. At the end Kitana acts as Mileena’s advisor since Mileena tends to be a little bit explosive 😂😂😂 Kitana def needs a lot of logic in her role. Totally different from Jade, who was mostly Kitana’s assistant.

Of course they’re going to ask questions. Kitana is curious about that and the fact there’s a version of her that is all powerful. Anyone would be. If you’re implying this Kitana is really interested in Liu Kang in a certain way, that isn’t the case.

And, as an author, or just an attentive person, I norice there's the ground work laid for human Liutana to exist as well as titan Liutana (well, until the point Liu dies, I mean. At first, I was upset that Kitana was reduced to a jobber, but considering the big roles that she's played in the last games, especially 11, I'm fine that her screen time was sacraficed so characters like Mileena, Baraka and Reptile could thrive. Though, I do think that she'll play a larger part in the sequel.

I don't think Kitana has lost anything here: they are all swooning over her, her mother wishes she was the first born, others tell her that living in Mileena's shadow wastes her potential etc. They are acknowledging her worth in every field no matter what her role might be.

This is done so that Mileena could at least stand out. If they're on equal terms, Mileena will never be able to get out of Kitana's shadow. But it's worth noting that Kitana Titan was great.

I think it's logical to assume that, if Liu Kang made Kitana into a younger sister to help her avoid becoming an empress and desling with that shit, it is also a fair assumption that Kitana made Liu Kang to not be a part of this whole "protect the earthrealm" club. Plus, I do think he'll appear in the next game?¿? (Or at least I hope, 'cause it's Liutana for life for me, no matter what timeline and state pf being)

@troll_of_ficbook I wouldn't bet the farm on that. This game focused very heavily on the 3D era of characters for its roster(Reiko, Nitara, Tanya, Havik, etc) and seems to follow the plans Liu Kang had after the end of MK11 in his New Era. If Johnny does get with anyone, my best bets would be Sonya Blade once she returns as a playable character, a new female character, or Kitana since this one isn't the one he knows or is familiar with.

No Jade was loyal to the throne but had other stuff going on like her rivalry with Tanya & relationship with Kotal. They made Kitana a Mileena twitter stan lol. It’s cool to let them love each other but give the Sister without the botched dental plan something else to do.
