This had me hooked. The lore of MK has always been A1 and the fact they rebooted it opens up endless possibilities, even for someone in their 40s playing it since the early 90s when it emerged as the direct rival to SF!! The fact that both games have stood the test of time says it all really..😊

I always tell everyone, young folks won’t understand the hype surrounding this franchise. You had to live and experience the 90’s to fully understand it. I remember as a teenager in 1993 walking into my local mall's arcade with my buddies yelling MORTAL KOMBAT! at the top of our lungs like in the original commercials, before headed to that machine to tear off heads and rip out hearts. Fun, really blazed times. Happy to see this is still going, almost time for this old head to throw hands in kombat league again, can't wait.

Fun fact: By the way, how many have noticed that the release date of MK 1 (September 14) almost coincides with the legendary Mortal Kombat Monday (September 13), when the first Mortal Kombat was released on the home systems? Whether it happened intentionally or not, it gives goosebumps. MOOORTAL KOMBAAAT! The fact that this commercial refers to an ad from '93 really touched me. Marketers knows their job and kudos for Dave Bautista.

I was hoping for the full original song, But this was still beautiful enough to actually bring a tear to my eyes. I know people often say “i am legit crying rn”, But I actually had a tear because of how much nostalgia this brought back. That's an interesting take, I'd consider the whole kameo system, and their approach to an assist fighter is actually pretty innovative mechanically, considering how little fighting games actually have this sort of thing. Not to mention the story is a completely new take on several old things. If anything, MK11 was nostalgia bait. I think MK1 is actually a really solid step forward, but maybe that's just me

This is a really good trailer. It's reliant to some extent on nostalgia, but I think it manages to communicate the idea regardless of your familiarity with the franchise. The only problem is, I now want Dave Bautista in a Mortal Kombat film, and I'm struggling to figure out who he's play. Maybe Shao Kahn? Maybe Gorro?
