It is amazing how loyal Reiko is to Shao, in all his dialogues he praised Shao. He has no hint of betrayal or wanting to overthrow him, he lives and dies by Shaos command.

Considering that all the endings of the fighters are now canonical, then with a high degree of probability Reiko will not appear in the next part of MK, since from his endings it can be understood that he will not survive the battle with Onaga, he himself says that he is going to certain death. It's so disappointing, I really wanted to see this character development after 17 years of absence from the roster. He's my favorite fighter. Reiko has great potential to become one of the most important and key characters in the MK series.Reiko is incredibly ruthless, merciless, brutal, cruel, savage, bloodthirsty warrior. He is а "beast" in human skin. Even monster characters like Baraka, Reptile, Goro, Kintaro, Sheeva, Motaro, D'vorah, Nitara, Kollector, Moloch, Drahmin are more human than Reiko. Reiko is so underrated. REIKO ONE LOVE

Reiko says in a leaked intro with Homelander that he thinks he'll have no issues whooping Homelander's ass because he tamed Onaga. I think it's Canon that Reiko succeeded fully

@@Philthorn There are no "power scales" in MK it's all _plot armor_ depending on the story and the character you're playing at the moment. If a mortal character like Shujinko can kick Onaga's butt it's definetly because the story allowed him so rather than because he just "happened to be stronger".

To me he is the boss, I was at my babysitter house and her kids and I were playing Mk4 on the 64 one day we challenged ourselves and played the ladder mode on a higher difficulty than we're accustomed to, Reiko was gatekeeping the last fight, he beat us for hours....since then I always looked forward to his appearances, finally some respect on the man

I like it how each ending is not so random but linked since few were the same but different p.o.v. So each ending is like a heads up on what's going on between mk1 and the upcoming mk2.... question is will onaga be the main villain this time? Who knows.

Y’know I was weirded out by Reiko’s inclusion because he was and still is a nothing character but then it hit me With Baraka, Reptile and Ermac becoming elevated the story requires jobbers to take their place and what better choice is there than characters like Reiko? If he was indeed a vessel for the One Being it would be impossible to bind and chain him for eternity given the One Being's omnipotence. My only guess is that this Onaga belongs to a more animalistic version of his dragon race hence why he barely behaves like a thinking being.

I'm guessing it's the lady from above who binds Onaga while pinning him down, Though sadly we know nothing. Kinda unfortunate that we still don't know Shao and his family's exact race since they seem to be a superior dragon breeds than the Shokans. Reiko is such a jobber that even his ending is like "Yeah, don't expect him to be in the sequel." To be fair though, a game like Mortal Kombat NEEDS jobbers. There has to be a character that the heroes consistently defeat that the audience won't feel bad for. If every fight was a heartwrenching moment between two equally plot-critical characters, you would be mentally exhausted. So thank you Reiko, for performing a vital service for the fighting game community.
