It wasn't just the enabled violence I liked in this port, but also the unique music I thought was bitchin

The music of Matt Furniss for this game is prodigious, dark and oriental, much better than the arcade version.

As a 90s kid who grew up playing Genesis Sonic games, THIS IS THE SHIT THAT EVOKED NIGHTMARES for me. Especially that 2nd stage music and the victory music. It stuck in my head for many years after

I'm 34 and still play this game. Got the MK arcade 1up cabinet, worth every f---king peny. I was 8 years old when I first played MK1 on the Sega Genesis. At the time, there was no blood in the consoles, you had to put in a code I was completely unaware of. Didn't matter, I still thought the game was way ahead of its time. What I loved about it were the graphics, music, martial arts and interesting characters. Scorpion was my favorite, especially his story.
