It´s based on Indonesian Silat & Filipino Kali knife techniques. The Raid 2 and The Man from Nowhere, are 2 movies which uses these fighting styles. The knife used is called Karambit. Noah Fleder, the stuntman who did the motion capture has confirmed it, in an interview.
