Mortal Kombat 1 is perhaps the biggest title in the series, and it's starting with a clean slate by rebooting the universe. Existing characters have new relationships, and though touted as a world of peace, there are still plenty of bloody battles to experience.
With all the unique mechanics that Mortal Kombat 11 offers, it's interesting to see what Mortal Kombat 1 is doing differently. The movement has become faster, and the new Kameo Fighter system allows for tagging separate characters with unique moves. What else is changing, especially all these years later?
Mortal Kombat 1 launches on September 19th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Let's examine several differences from its predecessor, including the upcoming DLC characters.

I may be alone in this but I’m glad they took the variation stuff out with letting us still customize the characters looks.

My biggest issue is, you can't have more than one customization on at a time. To chose between Johnny Cage and Jean-Claude Van Damme you need to return to the main menu. It would make a good quality of life if you could have 3-5 saved skins to choose from at the character select screen and it would be more fun that way too.

Mk11 vs mk1 1.Kano made me faint. 2. Fujin- need I say more. 3. Focuses a lot on special forces that tends to take away from a lot of the Asian mythology and lore. Mk1. All the men make me faint. Cameos make me scared for my life- in a good way. Johnny ties Kenshi to a chair. Ass whoopings hit you harder to your core. The representation of the characters tends to fit more into the story. Reptile- seems to have a better story and more personality.

The MAIN reason players are going back to MK11 is simple. MK11 has more "OPTIONS" for players to choose from. MK11 has the Krypt where you can unlock Skins,Fatals, Brutal, etc. Inside the Krypt you can go to the shrine and spend up to up to 100k coins if you wish - and depending on how many coins you spend determines what you will receive from the shrine. Inside the Krypt you go to the forge and create your own items and gear as well. MK11 has ToT/Classic Towers where you can unlock gear/konsumables/fatals and Brutals and if you want to you can use your AI to do all the fighting for you. MK11 also has the Classic towers where you can adjust the difficulty of each tower - or again, you can send in your AI to fight. MK11 has Co-Op challenge towers as well - you and your friends can tackle a tower together in tag-team matches. Mk11 has online AI battles as well. You can customize your roster for online AI battles against another players AI roster. MK1 has NONE of those "OPTIONS" other than "invasion Mode" which I find very Lack-Luster and the dumb Dragon Shrine where you can ONLY spend up to 1000 coins and you will most likely get ART... Really!!!

I feel like Character models were more detailed in MK11 and in MK1 most of them look generic😅.. might be wrong

U don't go into a fight with a bunch of heavy gear on. That was the problem with MK11. The characters in MK1 look like if we were to actually see them in person, a more grounded look.

well one big difference is Kuai Liang is now Scorpion in this era but again Bi Han seems destined to become Noob Saibot, but will see in story and it's confirmed sequel that will happen in Future

Yeah the game is too slow, and the jumps are way too floaty. Resolution is noticeably better though.

I like this, but they need to just do a hard reboot, the stories for these games were always terrible. Having this game as far away from the others would be a good thing. I mean, look how much ppl like Reptile now, who’s my all time personal favorite, you really want to go back to the piss poor version from the others after this is done?

That wasn't Shujinko, by the way; that was old Shang Tsung. As a Kameo he copies the abilities of the character you're facing.

No major graphical upgrade, still same janky cartoonish movements, same interface as mk11 the video literally didn't state any major difference other than cameos and returning characters it seems this game was not the plan for NRS but they had to release it cos mk community just couldn't shut up with their nuisance for a new game this game is so underwhelming but mk Simps will never admit it i know that as soon as Netherealm studios drop injustice 3 we will see how people will be amazed because that game will be the fighting game of the decade and this mk will be left with no juicy interest
