This video is great because you get an insight as to how the fatalities are made. In every fatality where limbs are removed or characters are split in half, they just spawn a second character model and let them share the job. Meanwhile bits, entrails, and gore are separate models summoned when needed. What confuses me is why 9:58 is an exception. In other news. KZfaq Gaming tells us that the game is Mortal Kombat X.

Her body doesn't multiply in that one because those aren't her arms. Those are arms used by every fighter. If the limb is used by that model and isnt supposed to fall off the model will duplicate by default, this also happened in MKX and MK9

So does this mean Kronika was considered for the roster at some point? The reason she duplicates is because she was never programmed to gib, but she was programmed for this one. Why would they program her for a fatality if it was never intended to be used?

Brendan Greene maybe this one works because, first of all its very fast. Second of all you need not see that much detail in the bodyparts because it’s so fast and zoomed out, so maybe they use a different method that works universally? Idk honestly just my guess

Its because neither of them were meant to be hit with a fatality, so they don't have dismemberment files(which is what makes them lose body parts without this happening) For those who say that the MK9 bosses work fine despite not being playable; they were originally meant to be playable, hence why they lose parts normally

I assume the game models for each gore piece is under the same file as the main model, but since it doesn't have a specific one it just uses the base model. That or the mod creator just moved a copy of the model to each area to prevent the game from crashing when it tries to access a model that doesn't exist. Tho the texture stretching for when the character gets bisected, like with Sonya's turret fatal, make me unsure.

@@Keokithederp Dismemberment files aren't separate models themselves. They are still attached to the same model, and are coded to detach from the model itself when a fatality or brutality is performed. All characters react and break apart the exact same way with the same animations when they become the fatality victim(with Kratos from MK9 being the only exception) to ease on resources. What puts the bosses in this position can be considered a failsafe. As they weren't meant to be a fatality victim, they have no such files to tell the game to break them apart. So in the case that this does happen, the game instead duplicates the model to the severed part so it doesn't crash. Sonya's turret fatality falls under this same reason, so no special explanation for that one

I've heard Erron Black's Wanted Entry differs everytime. And Kollector's Victory scene where he drags the opponent to his backpack differs depending who he defeated. Now I'm curious for a montage of both.
