Watching this trailer feels like once again I'm a 10 years old girl playing MK for the first time and being blown away by how creative the characters and gore were. Also I LOVED that they used a remixed version of the og MK movie theme. I CANT WAIT.

Yeah, Sanada is Scorpion that scene was a origin flashback, Cole is his own character. I think they gonna show Sub-Zero and Scorpion origins.

Scorpion is a hell-spawn. He could’ve died a long time ago as Hanzo then brought back as Scorpion. No ties to Cole

He definitely has connection to Cole, rumors have been going around for months , in the trailer we see Cole looking at the mirror and seeing Scorpion's face,also his posters have fiery yellow aura with him having yellow fiery eyes, him wearing yellow stuff as we see in the trailer , also sub zero is hunting Cole because of his special heritage as said in the synopsis ,and we see in the end when Scorpion and sub zero are fighting Cole is there as well, when Scorpion says get over here sub zero was attacking or about to attack Cole and Scorpion pulls him with his kunai chain. Them saying Cole being Scorpion ain't a far reach, there is a connection definitely,it's been out and about for months. How it'll play out and be revealed that's what we gotta wait and see.

@@subzerowins31 Maybe, but there's strong evidence to support that he's related to Sub Zero if you know MK lore. Bi Han got killed in the tournament by Scorpion, and his mantle as Sub Zero got passed to his younger brother Kuai Liang. And if you know about Kuai Liang, is that he was kicked out of the Lin Kuei for not being able to reach his frost powers. He was sent off to be killed, but long story short, he grew up in the U.S with his memories erased. That could explained why Bi Han tries to kill him in the trailer, because he was supposed to be killed a long time ago. So yeah, I personally believe he's going to turn out to be Kuai Liang and become the new Sub Zero, when Bi Han gets killed.

@@deadlysilence7474 I get what you're saying, but its highly unlikely that he'll be Kuai Liang, I thought the same as you before but then I did the background research, followed the behind the scenes drama and details and the Reddit rumors and analyzed everything as I said in my comment above and it all points to him having more of a connection with Scorpion than Sub-Zero, especially the Reddit forum that talked about this is the same forum on which many other leaks have been proven to be true so that combined with everything I know points to him having more connection with Scorpion, I think it's pretty obvious but we'll find out anyways on April 16th I guess.

I thought the same thing until he has the armor on his body and yellow on his hands. Who has that in the game? Takeda. He was trained by Scorpion and had armor on his body while having yellow wrist bands. Him seeing scorpion could easily mean it’s Takeda. I wanted it to be the sub zero we all love but I’m thinking he’s Takeda. Would be a decent twist.

There’s another theory were Cole is actually this Sub Zero’s younger brother and this is Bi Han (i think that’s his name), and when Bi Han gets killed, he comes back as Noob Saibot and Cole is the new, good Sub Zero (just a theory tho)

They're also saying that Cole is a descendant of Scorpion, and to hint at it you see him with yellow gear in the trailer. But also, when Scorpion uses his spear on Sub-Zero, you can see Cole down there too so I think Scorpion is actually there saving Cole/getting his revenge on Sub-Zero

@Golden Cobra Christopher is referring to when the 3 lads had a debate about who played iconic roles in Street Fighter Movie around the 5-8 min mark of this video...it's not relevant to the red band MK 2021 trailer but for fighter game/movie fans it adds excitement to past memories for hardened beat-em up arcade fans around the world who may have seen these movies.

The director said the first 10 mins will be the origin of Scorpion, that’s the fight we see in the trailer that looks like back in the day with Hanzo. Cole is a brand new character for the movie that is basically what Johnny Cage did in the first movie.

To add to that Cole Young could be Kuai Liang (younger Sub-Zero). Their names sound pretty close. I haven't come across enough lore about him before he adopted the Sub-Zero name so this movie could fill in the void. That transition of Cole facing a mirror to a vision of Scorpion then Cole spooked would make sense, too.

Cole young is takeda. In the trailer you can see his yellow gloves and then in the fight with goro you can see the stone like metallic back and at the end it shows Sonya and some one fighting and you can see coles almost lightsaber like blade which is takedas. It makes sense because takeda was a descendent of scorpion

Johnny Cage is not in the movie sorry man. However he's not being replaced by anybody especially not by Cole. That has been confirmed by the producer Todd Garner. There's a rumor that he'll make a cameo at the end of the movie.

Yeah this is like a prequal, setting up for another movie. Notice kanos face is all fucked up at the end, he gets his robot eye at the end of the movie, bet. And notice no johnny cage? They also look hella young. I think this is setting up a future franchise.
