It has a 15-chapter story mode, a side-story mode in Invasions, which has the Gateway Portal with 3 hourly towers, 3 daily towers, 3 weekly towers, and 1 seasonal tower + a boss fight, all of the arcade towers with three lengths and 5 difficulty settings, training, tutorial, ranked, tournament, kasual and KOTH, a replay system of all your matches, new mechanics (Kameos, Upblock, Aerial Kombat, 2 death animations for when your opponent quits in-game, taunting when you crouch 4 times, a screen flash upon doing a fatal blow with unique animations and sounds for each character, etc) and skins that drastically change the appearance of the roster along with multiple fatalities, brutalities, and taunts, all of which can be unlocked in the character mastery that actually gives you what you want instead of the stupid luck-based krypt.

@@breadlove47 Ya I genuinely don’t know what people are talking about when they say there isn’t enough single player content. With the exception of the krypt (which I do miss because I thought it was cool), everything that is there in the previous games is there now. And with invasions they kind of combined the krypt and the towers, so it pretty much fills the same role.

@@breadlove47nobody likes invasions and if you do, you’re lying to yourself. Invasions is the same boring fight over and over again with slight variations from modifiers. It’s not in the game to add to the game it’s legit just an excuse to have you grind out mastery for characters it really doesn’t add anything good to the game. I would rather a luck based krypt where I can walk through different areas and buy items from currency I earned in game than get the same skins redone over and over again in invasions

MK1 designs are closer to the original games, since the timeline literally restarted. They are all younger than their X and 11 counterparts due to taking place 26+ years earlier and in a time of peace, reducing the need for shiny armour and over the top weapons. MK1 is the winner for the nostalgia bait, bonus points for its references to Deadly Alliance, Deception, and Armageddon.

@@kodial79 Kameos closer to their original designs: Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Sonya, Kano, Motaro, Goro, Cyrax, Sektor, Jax, Stryker and Kung Lao. Kameos with new design elements: Sareena, Darrius, Frost and Shujinko. Seems like the majority to me, and therefore not some.

Liu Kang then describes in MK1 how he had the power to alter the course of history, and made it a more peaceful timeline compared to the one created by Kronika. This is the literal definition of restarting a timeline.

In general I would say that even if MK 11 has probably the best graphic, MK X truly has the best character design, while even if MK 1 looks somehow more childish, some outfits are quite dope.

I would love to see MKX remastered with a little bit better graphics and smoother, more realistic animations. Those old character models look more authentic for Mortal Kombat, while the current ones just look "too attractive" if you know what I mean. This is a fighting game, not a fashion show, give me some ugliness and more imperfections.

‏Regardless of the graphics, MKX characters has badass looks and outfits give more of a fighting feeling, unlike mk11 and mk1, which are more like clothes that are bought from the store for children like injustice.

I wish character faces remained more consistent from game to game. For example, Erron Black: he looks so different between X and 11. Kotal looked like a villain in X but his features seemed softer in 11 to perhaps make him more believeable as a less antagonistic character and Jade's love interest. I can excuse SubZero and Scorpion since this is the first time in a while that Bi-Han has donned that identity and it's also Kuai Liang's first time as Scirpion. Shang Tsung should've probably had a older looking model for his titan instead of just reusing the default one.
