There's a cutscene that triggers before you reach the chalice. You can skip it by avoiding the trigger spot.

First quenching acid is in a box at around 5:09 in the video.

@@SmokeyAmp ohhhh, that little camp just before the Imrod temple. I haven't played the main game in a while but only Virtuous Cycle so I guess all those acids were hidden but I couldn't equate it cuz in VC you kick the chest and you don't get a quenching acid. ok, thx. I'd be so afraid of fighting bosses like this cuz one mistake and you're toast. Funny how you can cheat a games intentions if you know how. Mainly, none of the enemies are quick enough to attack so you can basically run past all of them. Then the foundling's stamina is way higher so that lets you whack away and get constant resolve to do the spike hit every 5 or 6 attacks. That hall of infinity hack where he jumps or rolls up the wall... that was wild. And the hidden portal..... I'd love to see your first gameplay to see how many times you got yourarse handed to you before you got good enough to beat it this way. HAHA I got mass murdered till I understood how it all worked. Timing... and not fighting each enemy. I really enjoyed the game.

@@aaanarchyrussia6140 I ended up getting him. My problem with him was the wave attack/arm attack. Seemed whenever he did that combo death was unavoidable. I'd dodge the wave only to get his by his arm, or dodge his arm right into the wave. Then on one fight he didn't use the wave at all and I had zero problems taking him out.

You only have to backtrack if you saved at the Sester inside of the temple. If you don't talk to any other Sesters except the one under the prisoner, you will always teleport back to falgrim.

You climb the stairs to avoid the trigger area for the cutscene. It saves time if you do it quick enough.

@@SmokeyAmp oooh, maybe the cutscene is longer in main game. I've only been doing VC for months so I forget what all was in the main game. BUT are cutscenes counted in the playtime lislted in stats you showed at end? I have to assume yes else you'd just go ahead and let the cutscene play. anyway, give people enough time and willpower... they will find a way to break it! hahaha That chopping the end boss and rocketing into the air... was that just an attack plus roll at the same time? curious thanks!!!

You can cancel any weapon swing with a dash, and then cancel the dash into another weapon swing. So you're effectively removing the recovery of the weapon swings and doing damage faster and much more safely.

I agree, the overworld design is very confusing. If you go to the main hub where the prisoner is and click on the weapon slots on the wall on any of the weapons you don't have, it will show you the path to that particular temple. That's really the only guidance they give you.

I keep seeing 2 lights come out and it looks like a harden to reset the animations but no cool down

@@420KlinK You don't cancel the attacks with harden, the attacks are cancelled with dash. Harden is used very little in this run.
