Love, love, love! You laid it in random form which is pleasing to the eye and has no repeating pattern. Hope others are watching and learning

Mi pregunta es si haciendo las cosas con ese molde si se puede poner una mesa o unas sillas o algo así y que quede bien firme?

Add regular table salt or salt crystals between pavers to kill roots, prevent germination & weed growth. Snow, rain or watering w/a hose will continually dissolve salt crystals. Pellets take too long to break down unless they are crushed into smaller pieces before use.

It looks like what we call D.G., decomposed granite. Mulch is organic matter, usually used to prevent moisture loss and hinder weeds from sprouting. It would eventually decompose and settle, whereas the D.G. is mineral, like sand, it can be compressed and used as a hard surface for walkways.

Hose off the mold after each paver will prevent dried cement on the mold
@evone565 жыл бұрын
So could you just use the mold as a kind of stamp? Like pour cement into a solid form and just use the mold to push into the cement to make a fake rock image so you don;t need to have individual stones but looks like you do? I hope this question makes sense lol. It just seems like it would be faster and you would already have a border built in...

My son tried that..didnt work at all

Evone yes you can do it that way

It will work if you don't press down all the way and just use it for a quick/small imprint for a concrete walkway without sand filler, other than that there is too much excess concrete for a full imprint. As others are saying too, don;t use his mixture it looks great but won't last. Use a strong concrete and be sure to finish it smooth and spray with water for a few days touching it up each day, this will give a great finish and it will last.

S V make sure to add the aggregate. Possibly some fiber. That’s is not going to last very long the way he did it.

I used this mold. 230 bags of premixed concrete and four years later. The best way is to do this is on a couple 24"X 24" plywood and let them dry. Place them the next day...repeat. Let the weeds and ants destroy your work :(

thats what I was thinking to do as I bought 2 moulds in thailand and not easy to get paviers here. Was also thinking to try sika 212 grout. Not easy to get good aggregates here its stone 10mm or sand, cannot find "dust"

With out any aggregate it will fall apart in no time. With aggregate, you couldn’t finish it as fast.

These mold can be bought off net, I USED Lazada in Philippines. They come in various sides, mortar not REALLY GOOD, cement just as east and stronger,1 cement 3 sand, Vera small rocket 3,1-2-3 Will do it and strong
@marlonbell7974 жыл бұрын
Portland cement + sand=- mortar. Type M & N mortar in the U.S. are load bearing and extremely strong when cured. People who talk about mortar not being strong (especially holding an occasional 200 lb body walking on it need to do their homework.

I am a General Contractor and cringe watching him use mortar. That is going to break and crumble within a couple years. The best product for long term durability is reinforced concrete.

LOL, I'm with you!!!... Sadly today the people love the WOW factor for their 4th of july party or so and say oh well we'll worry about that next time
@billtaylor24054 жыл бұрын
I just put a reinforced concrete strip, my first concrete job ever. I really didn't stand a chance of turning out decent product, because the sun baked it to a hard finish almost before I got the job complete, using the mixing instructions on the side of the bag. I used 5 bags of quikrete in the yellow bag and mixed them by hand. I had an area sag a little, and was told to use non-shrink precision grout mixed with an adhesive in an almost liquified state to level the surface. I noticed today there were some cracks already. I was thinking about using mortar, because the next step in my project is to use a two quikrete templates side by side for 31 feet, and the mortar has a very nice cosmetic appeal. Despite my best efforts of working with the water mixture in the concrete mix, it came out with a rough grainy surface, and the grout to level it afterwards gave it a smooth finished look.
@motogp23754 жыл бұрын
Bill Taylor - supposed to use polymeric sand between the cracks. Then shower the sand lightly. It will bind the concrete even better. Goodluck!!

Todd Landry can i put this on my concreted yard
@ObroslinskiFamily4 жыл бұрын
Todd Landry I am going to do this next week but use the orange bag of Quikrete (reinforced). THEN, I am going to use mortar (type S) between the stones. Do you think this method will last a while?? I am doing it around my fire pit at a vacation rental so it will get some heavy traffic. Thanks for your advice!
