Myasnitskaya street.
Modern Myasnitskaya starts from Lubyanka Square and ends at the Garden Ring. Until the 1780s in the area of the boulevard ring, the street was divided in two by the Myasnitsky Gate of the White City walls. Behind the gate on the outer side of the ring there were butcher shops, where butchers slaughtered cattle and cut up carcasses. The settlement of butchers became one of the names of the street, which later remained the only one. Also toponyms were the now lost churches of the Grebnevskaya Mother of God, St. Euplaus, Flora and Lavra. Those parts of the street where they were located were called Grebnevka, Evplovka and Frolovka, respectively.
Shortly before the reign of Peter I, but especially during his reign, the street received the status of a royal road; Peter passed along it to his beloved Lefortovo. The trips were accompanied by festivities, masquerades, fireworks and other fun. The following sovereigns also often used this road, traveling to the villages of Krasnoye and Stromyn. According to the status of the street, the population was the highest nobility.
