First Check battery voltage with bat on condition, if voltage goes down below 3.5 Volt, change the battery. If battery is ok then check high voltage side diode.

We are using a battery of 3.7v battery for producing a spark. For charging the battery we require a step down transformer of 230/5 v and a rectifier. Inplace of transformer, we are connecting a capacitor in series with the 230v to bring it down to 5v. This is called transformer less power supply. The capacitor drops the 230 to 5v because of capacitive reaction. By changing the values of capacitor you can different voltages. Therefore, you should be very careful about the value of the capacitor while replacing. This is cheap and easy way Stepping down voltages. But is dangerous as if the capacitor shorts and the full voltage will be available at the battery and the battery gets destroyed. Further doubts are solicited
