I planned on getting this as a back up, but I've been seeing a few videos of it failing to feed. Sootch and Honest Outlaw had a gr8 time with it, but then MAC was having some issues. So now I've put it in a holding pattern. I'm glad to see it worked well for you. Gr8 vid. 🔫

Well my oldest boy EDC's one and loves it. I shot it and was very impressed. Mossberg in my book is one of if not the most patriotic company! I'm probably gonna get one if he keeps having success with his. He knows guns and was a Gunsmith for STI for several years. If he can't find anything wrong with it, it's probably good to go👍🇺🇸

I like my Mossberg MC1sc, standard edition, so much I purchased a second one, both standard editions. However, I have had to send my first one back to Mossberg for repair. I haven’t shot the second one yet. The slide would not return to battery a large majority of the time when fired, right from the beginning. I’d have to nudge the slide forward 1/4” to 1/8” to get it to return to full battery. I have 14 Mossberg magazines (1 6-round, 13 7-round), and the problem existed with all of them. Most of the time the problem occurred between 2 and 5 times per magazine. Frequently it occurred with every shot in the magazine. Rarely I could actually get all the way through a magazine without any failures. After the repair, the problem now occurs only 8 times per 100 shots; much better, but not perfect. I like how the pistol feels in my hands and its size. I like the accuracy with which I shoot it. I like the take-down feature. I like the trigger. I’ve fired Fiocchi, Browning, CCI Blazer Brass, Sig Sauer Elite Performance (the worst offender), Sellier & Bellot, and Federal Syntech and American Eagle through it for about 700 rounds.

I’ve had this pistol for about 2 weeks, and I was so excited to go to the range today. The mossberg mc1 sc jammed the first time I pulled the hammer back (yes I slid and let go, yes the mag was in correctly). I own many pistols from different brands and I have never experienced this. Anyway, I was a bit disappointed. I ended up going through about 100 rounds and to my disappointment yet again, the pistol had some issues ejecting the round casing, or not fully setting after ejecting the casing. Gonna try and lube the pistol real nice and put about 400 more rounds through it, before deciding whether or not to keep it. I absolutely love the feel, weight, and the flat trigger. it’s sad it’s having issues.

I’ve had my MC1sc for 2 months now with 600 rounds thru it, no issues or malfunctions whatsoever. I like it a lot and think Mossberg has a winner for sure. I shoot it better than my Glock 43. G43 magazine interchangeability, it also takes Sig Sauer #8 sights and vedder holsters work for it as well! I call it the FrankenGun because of all the different compatibility from different manufacturers. Give it time, I’m positive it will grow on you KS! 🇺🇸

I purchased one of these about a month ago I couldnt say no because of the price. I picked up a used one for $250 before tax and so far I love it.

Perhaps if Mossberg released this around the same time frame as the Glock 43 I think some people may have chosen it over the Glock. But I think they were a little late in the game getting into the single stack subcompact game. A solid offering from a great American company I don’t think you could go wrong with this gun it looks to have much better texture and better slide serrations than the G43. Good stuff KS keep up the great work bringing us such great videos!!!

I have this gun and I absolutely love it but I cant find any appendix holsters anywhere online for it im stuck using a cheap Blackhawk holster that doesn't fit it well

I handled one at a local gun shop and agree with you about the trigger. Earlier reviews were so glowing about it but other than being flat, it's a pretty standard affair. As you said, not a bad thing but not a PPQ or Apex either. Very nice looking gun but I think I'll stick with my Shield. Great review, KS!

Great budget gun love mine

I enjoyed the review and I do agree with you on "Like it" but "Don't love it." I shot one awhile back and for the price its a nice gun. The trigger needs a little fine tuning and the takedown is wonky. The glock 43 mags are cool too along with the night sights. I think its a nice little gun for carry. Another great review brother! Love little wonder 9's, but capacity is the issue for me on this one. I'd take out my Colt Mustang over this even if I had it. The Taurus G2C has double the rounds and not much more weight or size. Just my humble opinion. Thanks KS! Much love y'all!

hey KS, I was wondering if you could possibly do a video with the same gun but one with a factory trigger and the other with a aftermarket upgraded trigger and show us the accuracy on targets between the two. I've always heard the trigger is the biggest upgrade one can do for a firearm but I've never had a chane to compare that side by side. just a thought,hopefully others would be intrested in this comparision

Good lookin' pistol! Not any machining marks

Does anyone know if you can get one with the crossbolt safety, night sights, and laser (all 3 features on one)? Their website makes it seem like each feature is exclusive.

From my experience, when a trigger has that level of grit in it there are ways to improve it without a full disassembly. Thoroughly douse it in a lubricant, let it sit for about 12 hours, and then blow it out with compressed air. It's low tech but it generally works. If it had any particles left in it from the factory that could cause it. Of course you already have to take the friggin firing pin out to field strip the thing so you can't be many steps away from popping a trigger out.

Very attractive gun and magazine but is it reliable?

I have around 200 rounds thru mine and was a bit disappointed in my accuracy compared to my Glock 43, but I do love the way it feels as compared to the 43. My trigger was smooth as silk out of the, however it was pulling 6.5 but it felt lighter do to the smoothness...perhaps I got lucky with mine. Being a Glock guy I felt compelled to go in and polish everything and with probably 400 dry fires it is pulling 5 and sometimes high 4's and pleasing enough that I feel satisfied. I did have an issue where the mag released after the first round and I had to re seat it, happened twice and I'm not sure if it may have been me since I shoot lefty, however the Glock mags worked perfect. I tried some of my 43 mags with Taran tactical extensions and they would not seat. Would like to see a Ghost connector for these someday.

KSGunguy.... Thanks for the video. Based on the overall size comparisons alone, I don't feel that a difference between th Mossberg and the S&W gives me justification for one over the other. It comes down to overall feel which includes recoil and the price tag.

When will someone do Taurus G2C vs Mossberg MC1SC?

Mosburg throwing a new gun on the market,with so many very good choices these days,you have to stand out. Price or performance at 4 bills I can get a MnP that checks all the boxes,or Glock that has staying power or for a few dollars more Sig. Why go mosburg. Short answer I wouldn't. Great review 👍

just bought the mc1. wish the barrel is a little short. I appendix carry. shorter barrel is better when sitting down.

If I was in the market for my first single stack (which I am not), I think I would still go with the original Shield. $249 for the Shield for a quality firearm is hard to beat, even with it's funky trigger.

Great review. I was curious to see what someone who put a few hundred rounds through the pipe would say. That price though... Not sure how well it will sell being in Glock territory. Probably should have started with a sub-$400 MSRP and sub-$350 street price.

Tip of the firing pin appears to have a raised ramp perhaps used to fit in a slot????

How does the plastic mag release on the Mossberg feel any cheaper than the plastic mag release of the Glock? I don't understand why its such a big deal about pulling the trigger on a already safty checked pistol when taking it down for cleaning. Don't people dry fire unloaded pistols? I wanted to like this handgun so badly, I carry a g43 & I’m getting my gf into guns & she loves my 43. Went out & bought her the mossberg & it never goes into battery & it double feeds all the time no matter what magazines I use. Traded it in for a new g43😋

KS I agree that the trigger is slightly heavy but for a stock trigger it is pretty much on par with the rest of the field weight wise. I don't find it horrible and think that it is adequate for defensive carry. We all would like every manufacturer to use Apex systems that are super crisp 3.5lb triggers with short reset. I have to say the 2 best striker triggers from the factory are still in my opinion the Canik elite and the Bersa BP9CC triggers Super light pull, crisp snap, good resets. The Mossberg isn't bad though it is very shootable and I still find the shooting experience better than a stock G43 any day of the week. It has room for improvement but for a first run pistol in 100 years they could have done much worse. Still love mine and of all the top single stacks on the market it is the only one that didn't need something swapped out right out of the box. Oh yeah and by the way it takes Glock Mags Lol!!!

Why the night sites over the Viridian? Did you experience any hiccups such as failure to feed or eject? What ammo did it not like? I mean, I can buy this thing for $300! Seems like it’s a Glock made for those that hate Glock ergos OR for those that envy Glock and wouldn’t get caught dead with one I’m fortunate enough to not have to worry about capacity restrictions and somehow have the ability to conceal duty size pistols (19x) so single stacks don’t appeal to me all that much. If I had to pick one I’d most likely run with the shield 2.0. I did consider one for summer carry but the P365 got the pass. Still not my first choice but it’s nice to drop a bit of weight on the belt from time to time

Great review as always. After the review even though I dig the Mossberg...it appears that the Glock is the way to go. Get the original instead of the copies! But you can't go wrong with it if you do decide to get the Mossberg! KEEP ON ROCKING!

After 100 years that Mossberg MC1 looks just like a Glock 43, inside and out. Must have been an _accident_ (wink, wink) for a second pistol ever to just happen have very, very similar design to a top, maybe the top self-defense handgun in the World - the Glock.

It’s the breakdown of this gun that I do not like. Although during cleaning breakdown, it’s nice to clean and dry the firing pin\channel Karma it’s not the greatest in an emergency. But then again how many of us face in the emergency

I totally get why your viewers call you a trigger snob, but in your defense these pistols are so close to each other in performance and design that you have to nitpick otherwise every video would be the same opinion. If I wanted to watch a video that had the same opinion on every firearm I'd just go waste 40m watching H45.
