Different pellets perform best at different velocities and different barrels will like a particular pellet at a particular velocity. … Sound confusing? It is! 😂 don’t worry though cause I did the testing to find out what is the most accurate speed and pellets possible…. If your using a Lothar Walther .22 caliber 20” barrel 😉 like what I have in the RTI Prophet Performance.

After publishing this video I learned from RTI that the V1 Prophet has a 1:32 twist rate and the V2 has a 1:16 twist rate. The newer version will perform better with slugs and will need a slower velocity with pellets than the V1 due to the faster twist rate.

Nice video mate👍🏻I have prophet v1 with new rpb barrel(1:16 tr),its THE most accurate rifle with 25.39 redesigne I've ever seen and I'm a benchrest shooter and very picky one!it pushes 25 grain rd at 935fps and gets 245 and higher scores(50 meters ,wrabf target) all day long at indoor range,5 of my team mates have prophet with rpb barrel and all of them shoot like this,this kind of performance was unheard of! 1:16 tr barrels are extremely accurate even in high velocities

The Prophet Performance 2 has a DIFFERENT barrel than the Prophet Performance 1. This is IMHO the most significant difference between v1 and v2. The v1 barrel has a slow 1:32 twist rate optimized for keeping pellets stable at high speeds. The V2 barrel has a much faster 1:16 twist rate - to enable slug shooting (slugs are spin stabilized, pellets are drag stabilized). The v1 barrel is highly desired by competition pellet shooters.

Interesting. I had heard some conflicting information so I send a DM to RTI and got the answer direct from them. The old barrels were 1:32 twist rate and the new are 1:16 twist rate. The faster twist rate will require shooting the pellets slower but will perform better with slugs. I didn’t know this at the time of publishing this video. Thanks for your comment about the difference between the two.

Hope the will come out with a .177cal with 24inch barrel. That will push 20grain slug into the +40 ft/ibs

Great shooting Ben, the Prophet Performance seems a terrific rifle and H&N look good out of the LW barrel, JSB just have the edge I think.

The HP max is probably my favorite AEA that I have. Mine is in .357. I have an ATN thermal on it and it’s my coyote crusher.

nice review. love the Baracuda 21.14 gr ... they perform great specially for hunting What was the diameter of the baracuda pellet you shot?

I love my Prophet. I have the .22 and .25 barrels and have shot a huge variety of pellets out of them. I've found the .22 is a bit more accurate after all considerations but, the .25 puts critters down much quicker. My property gets invaded with Starlings every spring and with the .22 I seem to get more fly aways. The .25 hits so hard it destroys steel airgun targets, just twists the steel where the .22 doesn't. I'm just getting back into shooting PCP's after a long break trying to balance life an unbalanced world and I'm looking forward to watching your videos to catch any helpful info you might've picked up that I didn't.

LW barrel? Pretty sure the prophet 2 has a CZ barrel specially made by rti specs.

Great shooting and awesome video. How did you get the AOA coin? I bought my Brocock concept XR in .22 and the Omega compressor at Airguns of Arizona do they give you one when you purchase or do you have to specifically ask for one?
