Is this the most beautiful place in California?! This is a 3 night / 4 day backpacking trip in what I consider to be among the most beautiful places in the Eastern Sierra and even California for that matter. I'm joined by 3 of my friends as we start this adventure just a couple of days after the first snow of the season. It is absolutely stunning scenery from start to finish! Come along!

Majestic!!! God is THE greatest artist for sure. Cat, this was fun!! The scenery of course took the center stage position but the group joking around & obvious love of the nature you all walked through made all fun & exciting. I bought my first round of AG1, so as of today started that & with hughe determination will work on taking 60 pounds off my 59 year old body. My husband & I are outdoor peeps & I grew up at the lakes of the Midwest. Love hiking, yaking (kayaking) & triking (our Harley 3 wheeler motorcycle in the mountains). God is good & we are ready to get healthier & pull on the hiking boots again. Thanks for the inspiration Cat!

Love the video!! I hiked some of the same trails back in the 80's when I was a teen but we stayed at Lake Laura and Lake Altha. I chuckled when you mentioned the food backpackers imagine eating as they near the trail's end. I guessed cheeseburger as that was always my first choice after a hike and apparently it is a thing...

Nice photography of a favorite area! An alternate route with a little more mileage and elevation gain is to start from Agnew trailhead by going to Minaret lake, Cecile lake, and then descending to Iceberg and Ediza lakes. Descending from Cecile lake is the only section which entails rock scrambling instead of defined trails. Generally, above 10,000' in the Sierra, and especially in highly trafficked areas (e.g. Ediza), campfires are permanently banned. Wood grows too slow and is too sparse to allow campfires.

I hiked the same area with 4 friends one month earlier, from August 20th to 25th 2022. Much warmer, I'm sure. Seeing your video, Cat, was a great recap of the trails for me, both the beauty and the sore hip flexors at the end of each day. We didn't through hike. We made a base camp at Garnet Lake and took long day hikes out and around 1000 Island Lake and scrambled cross country into the pristine high country above those lakes. All amazing. Recommend!

I did a loop from Agnew Meadows, to Shadow, Ediza, Iceberg, Cecil, Minaret and Devil's Postpile. Cecil and Minaret are unforgettable. We got a ride from Devil's back to Agnew Meadows. The second night at Cecil temps dropped to 15 degrees. We got rain, hail and snow. It was September 30th, and the severity of the storm was unexpected. Overall, however, it was a spectacular trip.
