That's why true sleepers are the hardest to build. It's a lot harder to get more performance without giving the car away with those tell tale signs. It doesn't mean those other cars are bad. They just don't fall within the true definition of a sleeper.

Sure it can. I have an 06 Crown Vic, a big 4 door sedan usually piloted by the over 70 crowd or cops. While the cop version, like mine is, runs ok for a barge it would not be any means considered fast. But there is room to make it very fast barge like my work in progress now. Totally stock outside except a set of Mustang Bullitt wheels and lowered an inch but currently putting around 400 to the wheels by way of a single turbo. While not supercar fast it surprises all who come across it, even if I get beat they think the car is cool as hell.

Also, I would never call an E30 a sleeper even if bone stock. It's common knowledge that that car is pretty fucking brutal and it has the looks to remind everyone who sees it.
