Thanks for this awesome video! I'm early on in my journey, and always looking for ways to stand out. For these various fellowships, how much research (average ) is a good aim and what kind of research is preferred? Are board scores also considered? Thank you!

Would say to try to get 3-5 projects you work on. Some won't get anywhere. Others may get a poster or an abstract and maybe 1-2 will be really fruitful

What do you think about allergy immunology? salary, lifestyle and future job market. Is pay similar to rheuma? Incomin pgy-1, have been thinking about heme/onc but worried if it would take a mental toll on me. Also looking a bit into rheuma as well.

I appreciate your effort for making this video , i subscribed recentl. How could we know if the institution we're applying for residency has a good match history??
@TheMDJourney

For residency programs they often share their match list into fellowship on their website or social media.

How much would you say your step scores played a role in your fellowship match ?
@TheMDJourney
@TheMDJourney 7 ай бұрын
Unclear since programs aren't as openly interested compared to when you're applying for residency. I would say for the bigger programs they probably still matters equally as they probably use it as a filtering process to minimize how many applications and interviews they have to do. But compared to residency applications, I would say that those numbers probably don't matter as much if you did average or above average. I'm sure great and really low scores probably have the same effect.

What would you suggest doing as a medical student to increase your chances in matching into a competitive IM fellowship?
@TheMDJourney
@TheMDJourney Жыл бұрын
Early experiences and research with faculty in that field. This way you can clearly start to paint an early picture that you're interested in the field and that's will increase the chances that you'll have more experiences to talk about on your application and your interviews
