I really appreciate how you disclaimed the compliments one might get or not. I 100% agree with you on Amouge Guidance. I have a sample of it and recently wore it to Brunch. A waitress that was not from our table asked me what I was wearing and then came back to have me google it for her. 😂 I find it nice, but not my favorite from the brand. Sunshine woman is my fave from the house. I love your videos and enjoy your take on scents ❤

Oh your description of Jardins de Misfah was sensational, wow. I'm off to their website now to order a sample. Thank you so much for being so clever and helpful in including such enticing information. If you hadn't mentioned that they offer trial sizes I probably wouldn't ever visit their website. Bianco Latte is definitely a compliment magnet. I also got many compliments when I wear Babycat x Khamrah. Also recently been wearing Kind Intentions and that gets me so many compliments.. that rich creamy vanilla dry down creates such an intoxicating scent trail🥰

The way you feel about Amouage Guidance is how I feel about Bianco Latte 😂. I did not like BL. I thought it smelled juvenile and way too sweet. I definitely didn’t get the hype for something so basic. Yet, I received soooo many compliments the first and only time I wore it lol!! Now guidance I wasn’t sure if I would like, but I actually LOVE it!

Haha that is so interesting! I do think it’s a linear simple vanilla but it has an intoxicating scent trail which people really pick up on. So interesting you didn’t enjoy but people still complimented, that’s the nature of perfume and how subjective it is! I am so glad you love Guidance ☺️

Omg same!! Thankfully I purchase a sample size of BL and as much as I tried to love it, I could not! I get so much coconut in it, which I’m not a fan of, surprised most people haven’t noted the coconut note. But Guidance 🤯The opening is so strong but that dry down😍 Get so many compliments for guidance.

Wow! I’ve had the EXACT same response with Guidance! I just DO NOT like it myself, but my husband adores it. I’ve worn it to a wedding (my husbands request) and several people asked me what perfume I wear. At work, same response. People just love the scent. It does not work on me and I do regret the expense. So many other great perfumes out there.

I am glad you reviewed One Umbrella for Two. I might just buy Umbrella for Two just for the bottle. It's beautiful. It was in my subscription a few months back. I tried it. There is something in the ingredients that comes across like rotting fruit or over fermented something. Maybe it's the rice or the tea note. Is there some kind of bean in there? You're right that it has a syrupy sweetness. But it makes me wrinkle my nose. It is rare that I absolutely hate a perfume. But this is one of them. It's too bad. I love the bottle.

I agree that sweet fragrances seem to get the most compliments. Tbh i tended to stay away from them but this year I blind bought Blanche Bete, Material and Fire At Will and people just gravitate yo them 😋. One colleague asked about BB and bought it for his wife's birthday

I agree that Bianco latte is quite linear/ boring but is pretty and gets loads of compliments. Guidance is the opposite. It is so interesting it becomes difficult but beautiful and loads of compliments. I have to get my nose on one umbrella. Peregrina is so sexy. All bangers!!👏🏽❤

It’s a simple vanilla but with a huge projection, which is why I believe it’s hyped up. I do love it don’t get me wrong but yeah it’s linear.

For me? Peregrina, Iris Malikhan, Guidance and Silky Woods. I just don’t get Bianco Latte hype. I may buy it but as you and Demi say it’s the longevity factor.

Great list!! Don’t buy into the hype if you are unsure, maybe try get a sample. It’s just got an insane scent trail which is what I think gets compliments. It is a lovely vanilla but I adore vanilla fragrances

@@hayley.clough I do too Hayley. You know that. But I think the Jousset (sp) one (the OG, not the flankers) do the work better. For me, my new favorite is Vanilla Powder. When you said you liked it, I knew I was going into Manhattan (as in you going into London - same distance) and I immediately went to Saks to test. I LOVE IT. I love SDV too (bought it earlier this year), but I'm such a MP fan that I knew it would be hard for me to hate it.

And by the way, I held off on Guidance. Until October. I can't wear it now in NY cold, but when I last tested it in September (it was still hot), it just bloomed. It is polarizing though. Yet people respond.

Thank you for being honest about guidance. I’ve watched several recent videos where influencers are starting to walk it back. I almost did a blind buy, but went for a sample instead. I’m very happy I did this because I don’t like it. I work in a cosmetic department selling fragrance and no one I worked with liked it either. I think all loud fragrances get compliments, and some of them probably are not genuine. I have asked people what they are wearing strictly because it was hideous,but you have to follow that with a compliment because no one wants to hurt someone’s feelings. I think the compliments you can trust would be from your family members and very close friends.

It's AMOUAGE. It was never meant for the pink sugar black opium girlies. Because of KZfaq, ya'll got your nose on it and subsequently ruined the reviews on Fragrantica. My family who hates fragrances love this.

Hello Hayley. I feel the same way about Guidance. It took me 7-8 months before I started warming up to it, and I could also do only 2-3 sprays, as far far from my nose as possible 🤣 but for some reason, it’s just a big compliment magnet, to the point that I make the compliment givers buy their own bottle. 😁The one fragrance in my collection that beat Guidance with regards to the amount of compliments was THOO Bonbon Pop, and since the last few days, Navitus Baklava Royale. 🥰😊😍

I think im the odd one out regarding bianco latte it was not flattering to me i had to wash it off. I own guidance i feel the same its cloying and super strong and just one spray stuck to everything i own for days it upset my stomach.

I appreciate that you point out the many factors which would lead to compliments. Your age, your geographical location, your type of work, your friends. For instance, I am from the Pacific Northwest of the U.S. I am a professional in healthcare. I would be asked to go home if I wore a noticeable fragrance. Further, in general it would be considered strange if I wore a middle eastern type fragrance in any setting. Sure, we wear fragrance for ourselves but nobody wants to be treated with disgust because of what they are wearing…..

I found out that spraying over 2 sprays of GUIDANCE i go nose blind I don’t know why and i am over sprayer but with this 1 spray is enough and i smell myself the whole day
