Most Dangerous Ways To School | MEXICO | Free Documentary
Every Monday, little Lorenzo struggles alone as he makes his way over slippery scree and past steep canyons. And all this just so he can go to school and receive something to eat there. The 6-year-old lives in northwest Mexico in the extensive Sierra Madre Occidental. This is the home of his people, the Rarámuri. These indigenous peoples live well-hidden in the mountains and have hardly any contact with the outside world. Their daily lives revolve around agriculture and livestock; poverty is a big issue for the Rarámuri. To escape this fate, Lorenzo must literally overcome more than 1000 metres altitude. One small lapse of concentration, one careless step and Lorenzo could fall off the edge.
At school, Teresa, Angela and Philomena sit next to him. These sisters, aged 6, 8 and 9, can see the school from their home, which sits on a plateau opposite. But to get there requires a journey of many hours, which takes them over narrow and rocky paths, onto sharp rock edges, across a stream, and - just before they reach their destination - forces them to climb again steeply uphill over smooth rocks on all fours. If it is raining, this journey becomes an almost impossible one: the stream is transformed within minutes into a torrent, and the rocks are suddenly as slippery as an ice rink.
These children undertake their journey to school all by themselves. For up to four hours, they march through one of the most beautiful but also one of the most dangerous Mexican landscapes. Throughout this journey they all have only one goal in mind: to ultimately find a job in a city and lead a better life.

ATTENTION to all friends, subscribers and generally awesome followers of our channels: Fans of the MOST DANGEROUS WAYS TO SCHOOL Series have been asking for a long time how they can donate to help these kids - directly. Well, now, finally, we've found a way: With the assistance of some awesome people who specialize in bringing aid directly to the Nepal area, we’ve set up a GoFundMe for the school kids in Nepal. Obviously, the kids in the documentary are already grown up and making their way in the world but there are thousands following in their footsteps - all with dreams of making a better life for themselves and their families. Now we are able to help them directly. We can't do it without you. Now go help these kids peeps with your donations HERE---> www.gofundme.com/f/help-free-documentary-to-help

Yes, not all but Most. Not many, Most. It's extremely depressing. And it's not their fault. The Parents sadly are to blame. I was born and raised in the Formally great city of San Francisco. I don't care what anyone says. I've lived 40 years here and these kids are so terrible I literally can't put it in words. Now it's so bad that I will go nowhere after dark, Period! I call them the "ULTRA VIOLENT". Because that's what they truly are. This is a horrible fact that goes unnoticed. And it all starts with the PARENTS

I am a 37 years Chinese, I went to boarding school since year 4 and just back to home once per week. Our government was poor and didn’t offer meals to us back to that time, so we need to carry rice, cooked food and bed stuff by ourselves through mountains to school. Cooked food are easy to get bad during hot weather, then most of time we just bring some salted vegetables or meat to eat a whole week. But I studied hard, then I went to a good university in Beijing, now I am living in Australia and donating a little bit money to Indonesia every months trying to help some kids there.

I won’t complain after watching what these children endured. Lorenzo was so small (I also noticed his Blues Clues shirt!) to make that trip at all, and he did it all alone! It broke my heart when he had to take shelter in the small “cave”. The girls were like little mountain goats, hopping down the mountainside. I’m sure it was much harder than they made it look, especially for the youngest.

Me recuerda mucho mi niñez.

I never cry because I am tough man, I have feelings of steel. But watching Lorenzo made me cry like a little kid! How is that little one so alone in the wilderness with nobody around for miles and miles and going through so much danger, with blisters on feet, with rain against him, with coyotes, snakes around him, climbing the most treacherous terrain of the world. How does he do it? Not once, not twice, but multiple times? There's gotta be an angel protecting him from all the dangers. Each night I am going to pray for kids like them to be safe, and if there is also a way to donate money for them I will, we all should.

Some of the kids in America are lazy ingrates and do not deserve the free public education that they have rights to. I work for one of the biggest school dist. in Northern Ca. and teachers are literally dropping like flies at the school i work at bc the the little brats are so bad. If you made them watch this they would laugh and make fun of these poor children. The children in this video have more character and determination than in their little pinky then any of the little shits i work with. I pray that God watch over them closely and get them to and from safely.

@@kaitlyncowger6602 Nope Kaitlyn! Actually, little girrl, I am great at my job. Also, you just proved my point though about kids being rude and disrespectful. You don't know me and you don't know the type of kids I work with, so when and until then...why don't you shut your big mouth and go talk about something you do know about, but that "PROLLY" isn't much since you clearly can't write and have no grasp of the English language or correct grammar. Open a book, learn something, and pay attention in school. Read books too because reading will also help with your poor reading and writing skills.

I watched this documentary in the context of English task in my school. I had a lot of different thoughts after watching and one of the main ideas is how lives could be different. As a student who lives in the modern city, I want to say that students, whose lives are demonstrated in the video, really inspire me. Their need and necessity in education. I guess that they are really purposeful and that is a reason why they have to be educated same as other children.
