Good request. Perhaps a couple different videos though - budget hunting and budget target. Budget 3D? I would like Chris to address when it makes the most sense to "buy once, cry once" - where does it make the best sense for the beginner to invest in a really good piece of equipment, while on other pieces of gear beginner should try to save money.

Those washers are called nord lock washers on the 3rd axis adjustment. Really Cool to see them used in a bow sight!

Those Nord Lock washers are no joke! Even without a locking compound is supposed to be stronger than any other “locking” type washer. Never seen them used on small scale operations like this. Mostly multimillion dollar equipment that can’t afford to have loose hardware.

Chris just taking a long shot guess, but I believe the Allen wrenches have a painted rubber texture that allows you to put them back in the strap and stay in place and not fall out? Not entirely sure. But maybe keeps them from slipping around.

there are a few things about Shibuya that I don't like. For example, scopes where you can not put a screw through from the inside (Beiter for example) are impossibly annoying to mount on these non-rotating bars. You lose your 2nd axis setting when moving the scope over one slot. And you also have to carry the metric allen keys with you. I like how super light they are, at least the original CPX used to be, idk about the new one. They are great for youth and women archers or basically anyone who is concerned about overall mass weight of the bow. I don't know the actual numbers, but they do make your bow noticably lighter in your hand compared to an Axcel or SureLoc. The new SureLocs are suuuper heavy. They will become loose over time, but there are four rubber pieces that clamp the head of the sight to the bar, which you can tighten down. Be very careful with those when you do tighten them down, 1/16 of a turn to start. Axcel have a system that IMO is better than Shibuyas, but they do also have to be tightened down occasionally. I do it maybe twice a year, but I shoot a lot with a fairly heavy scope setup. It's a bit nicer because you just need to loosen one screw and push a lever (with an indicator) and not four seperate ones. The original Achieve CXL even had a lever underneath the axis sliding block that served as a lock for the quick travel as well.

Those lock washers are called Nordlock. The design of them alone is worth looking into. Basically the way they work is they're used in pairs and the pitch of the teeth on them combined is steeper than the pitch of the screw making it harder to overcome the lock. They work great and should be used everywhere.

The UV3 looks so damn good. I'm kinda bummed I bought the UV2 a couple months ago, but it still works perfectly, so I don't mind too much. The problem with detaching the entire sight block is that it's a target sight. You will not be able to put it back perfectly to where you'd want it.
@V8VRUte

I remember when I got my Ultima CPX a few years ago, I was so excited to see the NordLocks on it, as I was constantly retorqueing the bolts on my old Sight. I've just got one of these CP Pro sights to replace it with (It still lives, will just go an live on the spare bow) I like the new bar, and mounting system, and I'm glad to see the quick disconnect that they've now added, as that was the one thing I missed most about my old Axcel. One of the things I noticed, about Shibuya's attention to detail, is that they've maintained the extension distance, even with the the disconnect being added, compared to my old CPX. So for a given mounting index, the sight extension remained exactly the same. Also, for the bow mounting, there are lines on the carbon bar, that line up with the edge of the mounting block that index with the circular grooves in the lock down screw. The one thing I'd like to see, is more sight tapes available. For me, I need something in between 2 of the options, aside from that, I think that this is honestly well worth the premium price tag.

When you started adjusting the windage on the Shibiya, was it bottomed out/adjusted all the way to the right? Sure looked like it. Especially considering half way through its range you see the red ‘center’ mark appear. So I think it’s pretty similar amounts of travel between the two.

@@outdoorfamilytraditions9352 It's an interesting dichotomy. Being a great target archer means nothing in the deer woods. In the '80s and '90s I won a lor of tournaments but I made a lot of really stupid mistakes while hunting. When I stopped worrying about being able to hit a dime at 50 yds, I started killing better bucks. Now, I can't keep 6 arrows in the 10 ring at 30 yds, but my last 4 bucks have all been P&Y....and I'm still using a 27 yr old bow and aluminum arrows.
