You can literally cancel ft at any time. It forces ppl to use staggers so you bait them out. Even if u get staggered you have you other weapon at your disposal, stoneform, rolls, use fs abilities at your feet, or just eat it if you play heavy armor and Mitigate dmg to where it’s non existent. Literally just run heavy ft with pestilence and it’s god mode easy no counter

honestly, remove flamethrower totally^^ but u see in his video, his ft never did more then 2.6k dps in total ( with smolder ) its the annoying consistancy ( + facing people who are either paid actor's or noobs.. )

They probably have a shitty version of it or aren't running the right perks to boost its damage. Fire harnessing plus a good ring with invig punishment or burning and flame damage. Some people just aren't optimized. And you need plagued crits with flamethrower

There is a cool down in melee. There is a clear animation that is more open to iframing. Flamethrower is just point and click with speed boost. There is zero point to flamethrower.. Either you go full in or dive out. You also have far more control and can spin around at an angle while not missing a beat. Honestly I do not care about flamethrower.. Its more range, best aoes, usually the hardest to counter damages, best cleanse, best roots/stuns In my opinion all range should have damage reduced. You should not be able to do as much damage as melee (often more because you can stack your build). Add a significant fall off damage or something similar. There is a reason we don't fight with swords anymore. Range main risk is other range. Melee has to fight everything. Range is very low risk vs reward and is why range builds are so popular and fill most game modes.. From almost day one... Self heals while holding a life staff should be lowered some 40% or so. Its far too easy to be careless but have no consequences. I survive nearly everything and I rather it be built around playing a good position and watching each others back then....(Let me run in the middle of the cluster and not care) Anti heals are not a solution. There is just far too much healing but healing needs to be insane until they nerf things like range and root/stun nonsense. Roots/Stuns/Staggers needs to be limited. Haste should just be removed among many run away mechanics. But this is just my opinion. I find NW to be something that will never see any form of actual fair competitiveness. Year later and we barely see any pvp content. Devs just dont care about pvp. Its always put on the back burner.

Not really op just simple. Low risk high reward as in most range builds in this game and its why they are so popular. Fighting melee? Well enjoy them wasting an ability/stam/pots just to get over to you in the open field of OPR/Wars/Influences pushes etc. Then enjoy an easy escape with one of your abilities... Rinse and repeat. Best AOE, Best stuns/roots etc. Top it all off.. Harder to counter damage types. There should honestly only be Thrust, Strike, Slash and Magic. The other damages should just be for pve. Range should have large fall off damage but balance is not something you say when thinking about NW pvp

With pestilence and plague crits it's pretty ridiculous your almost instantly at like 50 percent disease

@@jbravo8582 hows that? pesti applies 3x5%. plagued crits adds say 26% (incorrect), but all weapons can have it. What we truly taking about is this 15% added by pesti, or did I miss something? By the way, you can run pest with IG, VG, you choose. Use it on your bow, you will add the same dots. Its not a fire staff issue

You would be right if flamethrower had a cooldown, a limited channeling time, mana consumption.

They why is it so popular to use ? …what server you on? If I transfer over would you 1v1 me with flamethrower ? …I was fully geared melee averaging 6-10 kills a opr …soon as I switched to flamethrower it shot up to 10-15 with WAY less work lmao I’m a flamethrower enjoyer and I can admit it’s overtuned

@@zapattacks171 Here’s the thing… People look at these videos and say “Flamethrower is OP”. But in reality, it’s not. You got whelps burning two melee who is surrounded by his entire team. They’re going to die regardless of flamethrower or not. Whelps is only getting the kills because the damage/dots are ticking quicker than auto attacks so he’s more likely to get the killing blow… just like your experience. I used to complain about flamethrower just as much as the next guy. But after realizing I can shirk heals and press forward on the target, CC them (since they’re standing there) it’s really not a big of a deal as I made it.

@@zapattacks171 Fireball and Burnout with Pillar is a much stronger combination to deal with.

it's because skill design is ridiculous channeling skill with a press of a button that can move without comsuming resource and no cd doing high dps
