History goes back a lot longer (Yeah, I'm like 100). UCLA basketball at Notre Dame in 1974 was a heartbreak Bill Walton _still_ hasn't gotten past. And the Cowboys in Super Bowl V - the ending was brutal to their fans. And the U.S.-USSR basketball in the 1972 Olympics? Most of the U.S. players to this day have refused their silver medals.

The USA vs Soviets Olympic b ball game was fixed. It was clear that the Refs had their orders that Soviets were to win. The Refs gave them like three or four chances at the end there to be sure that they won. Made up calls out of thin air. But we beat em in ice hockey in 1980.
@brianarbenz1329
@brianarbenz1329 5 ай бұрын
@@aspenrebel That may be what Americans' hearts tell them about the Munich game, but the idea that it was fixed just doesn't go along with what the refs did. Doug Collins was actually awarded a free throw by those same refs in the final seconds that by the rules he should have had to shoot over. The Soviets had called a time out, and Int'l rules said a time out before two free throws comes after the first free throw, strange as that sounds. But they gave Collins the ball right after he hit the first and let him hit the second, despite the scorekeeper blowing the horn for the TO. The point stayed on the scoreboard. Then the reason the Soviets got their second of those three inbounds was that the clock malfunctioned on the first. Then on the third inbound, Tom McMillian was guarding the inbounds passer too closely. The international rule says the passer gets five feet of free space, but McMillian was giving him just the two that U.S. rules state. The refs gave him a verbal warning, but did not call a technical foul on him, which they by rules could have done. If there was a conspiracy to fix the game, all those moves by the refs would not have been done.

0:00 as they were punting the punter dropped the snap which caused the defense to have it and the ball is recovered by the defense and he goes the distance 1:00 around halftime the lions were up 20-0 and the packers came back. The game was seconds away from being over but rodgers took a shot to rodgers for the game winner 1:30 this was a goal in 2OT from behind the circles 2:31 the nationals were up 3-0 (bottom 9th) so the cubs had barely any chance 2:57 Chris Davis returned a fieldgoal 109 yards to the house to win on this play 3:29 whoever won this game went to Super Bowl 49. The packers were up 16-0 at the start 3:49 watch how the clock is running while Damien lillard is standing 4:29 this is the final 4. UCLA gets a 2 pointer so Gonzaga still has a chance 5:48 down by 5 and Miami is at the 69 with 7 seconds left 7:10 you should know this one And so as the rest

Was at the Lions game with Rodgers Hail Mary, I said to myself as the ball was in the air, the Lions are going to lose. And thats how you coped with being a Lions fan before MCDC came along, you prepared for any mishap, knowing the Lions would come up with any way possible to lose a game in heartbreaking fashion. They should have their own video

Quick history lesson about that second one regarding the Packers and the Lions: Earlier in the season, the Lions beat the Packers in Green Bay for the first time since the early 1990's. It was one of those seasons where nothing seemed to go right the Green Bay. Fast forward to that night. I was at work with my mom. I didn't have my license yet, and I was still living at home. But after a while, the Packers started coming back. On the ride home, my mom sped for only the 2nd time in my life. We made it in time to see the facemask penalty that set up that NFL record. So, let's review: the Lions won for the first time in a long time at Lambeau. But the Packers set an NFL record with the longest Hail Mary completion in NFL history. I'd say that's fair. LOL

The last one wasn’t that heartbreaking in full context. MVP Steve Nash and the Suns came back and won the series while the Lakers choked away a 3-1 lead. Actually, game 6 was probably more heartbreaking for the Lakers as the Suns made a last second 3 to tie the game in regulation and then win in overtime, despite Kobe scoring 50 points. If Tim Thomas misses that 3-pointer, the Lakers advance, but instead, the Lakers got blown out in game 7.

Catch Harbough's fault. A punt under pressure is very risky. Bad snap, bad catch, bad kick, strong rush. If they ran the ball to the sideline and stoped in bounds they would have won. Bad call. Surprised if he wins a national title after this.
