Most HIFI power cables are horrible, so why do we still use them?

(best value power cable I know of, pretty cheap )
Good with Oyaide 079 plugs for transistor and 037 plugs for tube.
I recommend trying Shunyata Diamondback from around year 2010, that also has good value. (nice and analytical but still pretty natural)
Used to cost about 200 bucks new.
Or maybe a Viborg 1501 power cable with Viborg one plugs for like 200 USD on ebay. (good value, and good start and on the warm side)

I thought it was fake when I saw this ad from a cable retailer showing off their RCA interconnects starting @ $65,000.00. Lo and behold it's only one of several in that price range. Mind. Blown.

I think a power cable would only alter the overall sound if the copper quality was really poor and the gauge was not up to the right level like 14. I don’t think it’s gonna make much of a difference beyond that.

You are partly right. It reacts mostly on gear that is better, having less signal with higher component quality. So much gear is built to suppress sound, that stuff like Mcintosh reduces it's influence to what feels to me like 1/3. Try a basic 20m power cable for 1 on your amp, then a 5m one, 2m, and 50cm one. Where all are basic 1-5 dollar cables. Just that in itself changes the sound quite a bit. Assuming it is in correct phase, and the system is decent.

what do you think about Kondo KSL-ACz Avocado? this is also audio note.

It is a clear Sell out move from Kondo going down to this level of cable IMO. Because Furutech make mouldy sound that is really bad with instruments, just too much help. And with a brand like Kondo they usually would not sell such an impure product. But it's very normal of them to skimp on the plugs, and indicate that there is silver in the pwr cable, while there is not. So to me it is a total money waste, unless you have budget to midclass gear. Audio Note ISIS power cable with real 037 plugs is much much better and half the price. Get my book, it explains all of this and more.

Because we're aware that this is exploitation of people unaware of the placebo effect. Use the cable that came with your amp. Get mad at the scammers.

Yes I did that, tried everything on the market and noticed the different sounds with different gear.. Some gear was so bad, it needed the worse cable. Have a nice day.
