What an amazing honor to get my blade on DBK! I'm so glad you like it and put the Ares through the test. And it earned its namesake God of War against battoning arguments. Starting a fire in the rain was phenomenal, yall hit right on the mark on how I designed it. The "Ramp" catches a ferro rod and showers sparks directly into your tender. Absolutely awesome seeing yall use it! Once again a HUGE THANK YOU DBK for reviewing my Work Tuff Gear Hemlock Ares! Yall Rock! 😁🤘

Hey, your design looks great! Can you tell me something about the steel. Is it similar to sleipner or A2 tool steel? Or Is it a powder steel? The edge holds up really good!

Work Tuff makes awesome knives. I wish they would change two things. 1st, it would be nice if they put handguards on their Bowie style knives. 2nd, their knives are almost always out of stock.

Came here to say the same. I have been lusting after this knife since the first time I saw it, which feels like years at this point. But its somewhat rare in their rotation and seems to just be perpetually out of stock. Even now, I checked their site, they have like 3 to 5 variants of the ARES out on there and every last one is out of stock for this month.

G'day guys, that is exactly what a "survival knife" should be, if anyone ever uses that term, just point 'em to this one. Needs a dangler though. And I'd still be carrying a "little" ; ) 5-6 in. secondary and a saw. I'm afraid to look at the price, but that aside, f'n awesome !!!!! many thanks for the look. Cheers Duke. P.S. apologies if I missed it, but did you mention the actual weight ? ........not that I really care for such a worthy tool, ........ just for comparison to a hatchet.

Love it. My main garden tool is a British MOD knife aka 'the pig.' It gets used as a knife, a machete, a spade, an axe, and a couple of times as a hammer. Accidentally hit a truck axle when clearing thick brambles and it chipped a little, similar to what happened with the steel abusing tasks here. But the MOD only cost me £54. Would love to see you do a destruction test on one?!

Best video you’ve made in a long time. Destruction is more fun than bushcraft. That size knife and a smaller companion knife are in my pack, all the time. Two knife system is what I’ve settled on after years of trying to find the one. Big giant knife is so practical and way more fun. I actually say Hulk Smash when I swing my baton. My favorite combo is Bravo3 and Bark River Bushcrafter in 3V. I hate nipping at wood with a small blade, just span it and smash it with a 12 inch wedge. Anyways thanks for a good video. Enjoyed it.

Cool video, boys. Honestly though, these giant chopper knives that you've been reviewing lately are nothing I would ever even consider buying, as I would never use one. And I think you've covered plenty of bushcraft and survival knives. I've got way more than I need there as well. How about you start reviewing folding/pocket knives? Realistic stuff that will actually get used. Stuff like Sencut, Civivi, Hogue, QSP, Kizer, Vosteed, etc. Not stuff like Rockstead, Sebenza, etc. Put them through typical EDC uses like basic food prep, cutting straps, boxes, cord, rope, thin wire, minor wood cutting and carving, etc. I suggest kicking off this series with the Magnacut Hogue Deka in both the Wharncliffe and the clip point blades. Cheers!
