The thing about consultancies is that for many 90% of people who have less educated parents or can't do the process themselves, it's likely that they'll never do it themselves. They can make any silly mistake and get their visa rejected. This is why consultancies are in business and they have a service they offer. As a student, you must do your own due diligence and decide your choice of university rather than use their suggestions.

Hey yudi, not related to the video but I am a high school who passed out this year and will be joining Btech in electrical this year. My university in its brochure has stated that on the basis of our university's admission test score we have an option to apply for some joint degree programmes offered by american and austrailian universities one of them being a joint bachelors degree in electrical engg. from SUNY Buffalo. Now since I am eligible I was looking for more information about bachelors in US I came across the fact on USCIS that you are eligible for OPT for work relating to your major area of degree so does it mean that if I can't work in software related company if I wanted to ?
@YudiJ
@YudiJ 29 күн бұрын
first - that is so cool. Second - no, that's not how it works. its not the company or the industry they look at, instead it is your job role and responsbility so as long as its related to your education then you are good Does that make sense?
@Mosd-ik9nt

@@YudiJ So if I majored in electrical after my bachelors but started working in some software role than it will be against the rules right ?
@YudiJ
@YudiJ 29 күн бұрын
@@Mosd-ik9nt it depends again since an electrical degree would have some computer science courses so there can be justification made of how your role is related to your degree. So just make sure to take some computer science courses and you should be good.

Hey this is Kshitij Dhyani (Guy from the Video), here are the reasons why I had to let go of CMU or TAMU (even though I did not want to): CMU: - I have taken a noncollateral education loan, which means the maximum I could get approved for was 40L (due to me not having any collateral to offer). Which did not cover the cost of CMU I-20 i.e. 90K (expected expense for just the first 9 months). - Even if I were to somehow secure a loan of 1cr to cover the i-20 for CMU, I was not comfortable spending close to 1.5cr on my master's with loaned money. - Lastly, I am the type of person who can land the same opportunities like the students at CMU by working harder. TMU: - TAMU's I-20 amount was around 60K, TAMU requires you to have the entire 60K in liquid assets (hard cash / in your bank statement), which meant me disbursing my entire loan amount on the very first day. This would have led to 10-12% interest accumulation starting from day 1, and would have cost me 12L extra by the time my master's ended. By choosing ASU: - I was able to complete my master's by disbursing only 26L of my 40L loan. - I was able to crack 4 internship offer (testament that we can achieve things from less prestigious colleges as well, and it depends highly on individual skills) * If you want to know more, and like my way of thinking and ideology feel free to reach out and Lets Talk. PS: College prestigue definitely helps in getting more opportunities, and CMU/TAMU would have been a great choice , but the stars did not align for me. If you have the money, definitely choose CMU over ASU, but if you are coming from a situation similar to mine, think twice. Cheers.

Asu covers 100% tuition reimbursements since it is a state university. State universities in the US have more benefits if you're a TA or RA. cmu is harder to get such benefits and is not 100% reimbursements. The question being answered here is whether you want to be in debt after graduation or be debt free in the current economy.

IM A PARENT FROM KERALA. I REALLY CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF STUDYING IN USA FOR MIDDLE CLASS STUDENTS FROM INDIA IF NO WORK VISA OR PR IS GUARANTEED AFTER STUDIES AND AFTER SPENDING THESE MAMMOTH SUMS OF MONEY. OR AM I THINKING IN THE WRONG WAY?

even if you don't get work visa, with stem courses and OPT for 3 years, you can get good return on value with the dollar vs rupee but obviously it is very expensive before you actually start earning.

@@anvitisingh2273 actually I was specifically asking with regards to middle class only. Don’t think it will be beneficial to work only for 3 years and then having to go back if u don’t get work visa.

@@babysunoj8103 it's not like that, even after spending huge money it's still a good choice. You're getting 3 years opt and the ROI is excellent. They can easily repay the loan and live a comfortable life, they are getting cultural as well as educational experience from us, moreover if they are lucky and managed to get H1B, they can apply for green card, in case if plans didn't work out still they choose option to go and work in Canada or some other countries. It's always worth the risk
@YudiJ

Some really good responses in comments already. But if the end goal and way you measure “benefit” is by settling in USA forever than yes it may not be worth the hassle and the money. This is where when have to change the mindset and focus on skills, exposure, life lessons and many more things that you won’t get. Plus like others mentioned if course is stem based then you get 1 year opt + 2 years extension without requiring H1b visa, now in these 3 years most students pay off the loans and able to generate at least 1 crore of savings if applied right strategy.
