When Jonny Moseley landed his signature trick, the Dinner Roll, at the 1998 Olympics in Japan, it didn’t just earn him a Gold Medal. It cemented his place in freestyle skiing history and made him one of the most influential mogul skiers of all time. Fast-forward 20 years later and Jonny still has it, influencing mogul and freeride skiers and passing on his knowledge to the next generation- including his own kids. This is a look at one means most to one of the best ski ambassadors ever - filmed in his home town of Lake Tahoe, Nevada.

Jonny truely changed the sport, what a legend. I watched the Nagono olympics over and over on my VHS recording. Sorry to be the mogul nerd here @outsidewatch but Jonny didn't do the Dinner Roll in Japan to win the gold medal. He did the 360 mute grab, which was also a revolutionary trick. He did the dinner roll in Salt Lake City in 2002 and didn't medal (4th place).

Skiing definitely brings and keeps family together . It's a sport to do together unlike organized sports where parents have to watch from the sidelines. Mosley is so blessed to achieve his dreams and now share and participate with his kids sking. He's so rite on!!

Legend. Changed everything. Love seeing the kids out on the slopes now.. that’s been my favorite part of skiing as well - watching my kids enjoy my passion!

I still remember that day watching Jonny do the dinner roll at the '02 Olympics. Watching him on TV with 30 other ski instructors, we knew he was gonna do it. Nobody wore helmets at moguls back then. Inverts were banned. And there he goes. Everyone went nuts. After that, we all started riding moguls. This wasn't at some ski resort in US. It was a small mountain 2 hours away from Seoul, South Korea, thousands of miles away from Salt Lake City. He changed skiing all around the world. I still love riding moguls.

I skied freestyle back in the late 70s and was coached by some early legends of the sport. Eddie Lincoln, who taught me to do flips on skis, Bruce Dinnman and Peter “Rabbit “ Johnson. The were pioneers of the sport and with them I got to ski with some of the other pioneers like Scott Brooksbank, Wayne Wong, and John Clendenin.

How about Jean-Luc Brassard in 1994? His run was legendary with a jump that no one had seen before. I was 18 at the time and was training with people who trained with Edgar Grospiron :-)

Omg. I had a pair of K2 Winter Heat. I no longer ski more than 100 yds or so of moguls because of those days. Knees are beat to hell.

The thing is, Mosely is a former freestyle aerialist... That meant that he was WAY beyond many others acrobatically.
