You may be wondering why I'm standing directly under a massive tree branch hanging on by a thread. It's to give a flavor of how Don Bosco felt every day of his life, because he had multiple Swords of Damocles hanging over his Oratory school for boys. There were so many obstacles to its fruition: masonic, anti-Catholic city officials who barred funds, causing constant money problems; clerics who left his Salesian order for no reason and a hostile archbishop who undermined his work. His great love of God helped him navigate these trials and tribulations, as we will learn in today's episode.
