wrong, the mafia are sicillian not italian. the sicillians did italians a favour by bringing in italians during the castellamarese war because they needed muscle. the bone head italians met this criteria very well.

@@Rome274 it all depends who you talk to. a member of the italian gov't would rightly say sicily is part of italy. on the other hand if you talk to a sicillian they see themselves as sicillian not italian. in europe the italians look down their noses at sicillians calling them hillbillies and peasants. however in new york in the mafia sicillians look down their noses at italians. in the new york mafia if you are of sicillian descent you rise faster in the mafia family than if you were of italian descent. thats a fact.

@@theindestructible. say a business needs it’s trash hauled. They’ll receive maybe 5 bids. The mob will own 3 of the companies, or all 5 if they can pull it off. They’ll drive up the price that way. They don’t bomb businesses anymore but fight extremely dirty against rival bidders and use connections to get their bids thrown out. I once had to research garbage companies for a hospital in the Bronx. The top three were all owned by the same old Italian guy in Massapequa.

a capo in italian means boss. a capo is boss of a crew or group of soldiers in a mafia family. one mafia family is made up of a number of crews or groups each headed up by a capo. some capos are refered to as lieutenants.

Interesting and informative. Excellent photography job enabling viewers to better understand what/whom the orator was describing. Class A research project!!! Special thanks to veteran mobsters/law enforcement officers/informants/civilians. Sharing personal information/criminal experiences. Making this documentary more authentic and possible.
