Hobby game dev here- Crash physics: Based on how the flight physics of this game works, making the the plane unstable with a part destroyed is just a singular if statement, for non programmers, just a single line of code With the physics sorted, lets look into the visuals, all the devs have to do is just divide the plane into segments and add separate colliders for each segment, maybe not a full on crash simulation but maybe divide the fuselage into 2-3 parts, each wing into 2-3 parts, this would barely do anything to performance, now we check for 2 things, if the plane is a certain speed and a segment has collided, dis-attach that segment(or maybe just play an explosion and fully despawn it), play a particle effect, handle the physics according to the location of the part destroyed and boom (literally) we got crash physics, according to the amount of planes in the game this may take about 1 month to add, but idk how orange manages the plane liveries, that may create extra problems AI passengers: Not ai, instead we create a bot, you set the amount, they all spawn in the terminal and just come inside the plane and sit, they cannot collide with anything and have no physics, kinda like ghosts, but this may take 2-3 months to add since orange would need to create invisible paths for these bots to follow in each terminal and plane Lag due to too many entities? make them local to each player! (others cant see them) In other words, atleast crash physics is really easy to add, AI passengers are easy too but it may take some time

Fun Fact they used to be crash "physics" Not really like the plane would just explode with parts, like there was fire and the plane would just despawn quickly

Another suggestion: PTFS should have a landing practice mode like in X-Plane or MFS 2020, where you spawn on the approach to the airport.

I feel like interior lighting should be added because at night it’s dark in the plane

I like PTFS graphics as they are but I think the aircraft could benefit from adding textures, basically instead of the wing being just gray it could have outlines of the spoilers, flaps, and ailerons, (kind of like project flight). this could also be added to aircraft liveries to make some like the Bare Metal AA livery on the 727 shiny and reflective, this should also be a toggle-able setting for players with lower end devices trying to minimize lag. I know the wing thing would take a while to implement across all aircraft but I still think that I could help PTFS compete against newer ro-aviation games with better graphics

We need the Airbus NEO models that would make the planes look better especially the A330 because the A330-900 NEO looks amazing

Yes, of these, at least the animation of Landing Gear and then PVP would be great and really necessary for this game, and Flares are only self-defense missiles in battle!

I think adding a inflatable slide would be cool for role play for sea role plays and also adding sinking to be lower.I do think shipwrecks etc would be cool as well.And maybe have a pvp mode on and off? And also add options such as a engine fire to start and to be put out etc add turbulence and add a navigation system with arrows for islands to be found. And add a currency such as to buy planes for it? And ranks perhaps? Also to low,coast guard boat,jet skis and a speaker saying to low… to low etc pull up would be nice. Along with a white trail behind the airline. Which leaves after a bit.

Tbh it would be cool to have a pvp mode that u enable. You could shoot down enemies or aircraft that may be a threath for a hijacking roleplay or something.

I think it'd be cool for the crash physics if there was a button you could press which would add fire to your plane. I know there is a feature of this in Brookhaven and it wouldn't be hard to be programmed into the game. Another thing similar to the crash physics is if you could replace flares on fighter jets with missiles that explode when they hit something. It wouldn't cause any damage just made an explosion effect. Yet again another cool feature would be a customisation for liveries. Instead of giving players the ability to make real airlines and threaten the game being taken down you could change the colours of your plane and add stripes and stuff, just a basic editor and you can have saves which will apply to all planes. (Maybe charge 50RBX for it?)

i would like to ptfs add a fpm thing below ur screen that appears when u land and its for seeing ur landing force, just like project flight but more basic

good crash physics is in emergency landing it is a bit laggy but it is the best plane crash physics that i have ever seen in roblox

I say with animation comes collapse, if you land too hard, your gear pushes up w a spring, and if it goes too far, your gear retracts automatically and a damage animation happens on the plane

About crash physics if they add it i want it to be a menu to chose what crash type and for ai passengers they could add into settings passengers on or off

for the lag crash physics add a button to disable and enable others destruction and urs too.

The a321 needs to be added, it’s massive engines just look awesome

I would ask if there could be suspension for planes but that would take a bit to make, as well as you would have to remodel like ALL the planes. So, the only thing that probably wouldn't take too long and is most likely easy is animated wheels when you're on the ground.

i have seen a few suggestions of indivisual engine ignition... that would be great

1st Suggestion: Yes it would be good to have animated gear but it might cause lag on lower end devices, and orange wants his game compatible with any device.

the og ptfs had kinda crash physics when you hit the ground the plane would go on fire and explode but now its difrent

i recommend neo warfare x since it haves all the requested features in the video (except for ai and landing gear) you can enable pvp and disable pvp, large islands, many free planes, ships, and cars, and crash physics

If they have to rework the wings and fuselages then they can just add animated gear for every plane that gets a remodel

if you added landing gear animation it would require every single aircraft (except for the ones with fixed gear) to be remodeled

Fun Fact: In the early days of PTFS you could crash and the plane would catch on fire. They removed it sometime in 2019-2021 but i cant remember

I advise people that want gear animations and crash physics to go to flight line, it has crash physics, you can crash a plane yes, and gear animations, like project flight with less features and more boring, but with crash physics.

Like 3 years ago there used to be some sort of crash physics where if you crash a plane into a building for example it would blow up and kill you

With the island thing i play a roblox game called aeronautica and they have a huge map and massive islands i rhink ptfs just has a lack of devs unlike other fligjr Sims

This all feature should add like crash physics,animated landing and much more.But don't make it to realistic.Its depends on the graphics settings.If you make it low the physics may not appeared but if you set it to high.But,if you set it to high,the physics will appear.

what I want isn't really just crash physics, I just want an option to simulate an engine fire and it doesn't even really have to be ultra realistic, I just want simply fire coming out of an engine, as simple as that.

ptfs is just a sandbox game while project flight is a realistic flight simulator. This holds back ptfs from having the detail or graphics that project does. Hope this helped!

in rain weather it need to add wet road and water splash when aircraft taxi / takeoff / landing . Plus the setting on/off

1:33 there is a thing in PTFS where if you fall in the water (slowly) the engines deactivate (it its on) and the plane starts sinking

hey anx! gear animation will never be added as orange will have to remodel every aircraft for the gears to fit inside. he said it made it easier to just make it disappear as its not worth it to spend all those hours on a 2 second animation. i know you explained this in the video but its just that the planes as you can see dont have the amount of seats in a row as real life.

I think they really need to change the texture of the gears because the remodelled planes have like details but the old models on airliners have colour only like black on the inside and grey on the inside. PS I think A330 needs a remodel.

Im waiting them to add a plane faliure manual as a list of different possible ways to crash your plane like explode engine or break wing

tbh, about the pvp feature, they don't have to make a separate game for it. They can just add an option to turn on/off pvp. That will be a good feature to add since the devs won't need to make a separate game for the pvp feature.

The thing with animated gear is it’d take forever because they’d have to animate EVERY SINGLE PLANE

I think they should add a tab to every plane and if you click on it, you can select which engine you want to be on fire

My suggestion is plane failures because you can role-play with out the crash physics and my also suggestion is add more cars and trucks or either tanks that way we can role play plus I saw the vehicle spawn that has like not much in there I didn’t say that the game sucks but I want the game to be more better and I wish they also have battleships with helipads that way we can. It’s pretty easy to do. There’s many modules for scripting motors. The real problems would be there is no gear compartment in the aircraft so they would just clip through the body. The animations could also lag due to the games origin positioning and size.

As we have seen from the most recent update my theory is that orange is slowly remodeling aircrafts, because the 747 has been updated. Also, i want them to add different variants of an aircraft like a 747-8 or a 737-8 max

For pvp we should make a game mode like plane crazy and we should we able to like change weapon loadouts that would be sick or we could have bombing missions airstrike that would be more cool

Animated Gear will probably won't be added very soon to PTFS cause Sam would Most Likely have to Remake Every plane with Retractable Gear

They could do a massive update for summer all about making landing gear animated

With animated gear, they could start off with making every new plane with it. They could also just do “pvp off/on” for pvp instead of a game

PVP could be a toggle where booth players need it on to shoot each other down.

It will probably get added when the devs actually have time to redo every single plane in existence

I think it would be cool to be seeing airliner interiors, however, it would take months to add a full interior to all airliners, if I'm being honest.

i thinks the pvp can be in ptfs orange can do somethink like that you can turn off and on the pvp or when you have it off you will need like 10 rockets to hit you and when one airplane will have like 6 rocket it will be not a big problem. It would be cool if you would need to return to base to reload ammo

The AI passengers would be pretty easy to code and not cause any lag, airplane sim did it no problem. Same with Cabin Crew Simulator.

It would be better to add reverse thrust animations and spoilers (with animation) but it would be hard and it would take months

gear animations are never coming since they would need tor rework the whole plane and physics system to implement it. Also means you would need a more powerful device to run it. So its a NO GO

Tbh I believe animated gear will never come to PTFS, not because of the trouble but maybye because the devs have noticed that the unanimated gear is part of PTFS identity, PTFS has grown over the years and has become the only living blocky flight sim on roblox. Therefore i believe its because the devs just wanna make unanimated gears as part of PTFS identity, which helps PTFS stand out from other flight sims such as project flight and flightline.
